Pink Sisters & Misters Charity

2024-2025 Annual Report

During the reporting period, the Charity has continued to make a significant and measurable difference to the lives of individuals affected by cancer across Staffordshire. Through a combination of practical support, emotional guidance, awareness-raising activities, and community partnerships, we have strengthened our role as a vital support network for people during and after treatment.

Our face-to-face support groups, now expanded to seven locations with further growth planned, have provided safe and welcoming spaces where beneficiaries can openly discuss their experiences, fears, and treatment journeys. These sessions, alongside our online support, telephone support, and home visits, have helped reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing for individuals of all genders and backgrounds. Notably, we have seen an increase in male participation, reflecting growing trust and recognition of the value of our services.

Practical assistance has remained a core part of our work. We have continued to offer transport to medical appointments, hospital visits, and support meetings, ensuring that lack of transport is never a barrier to accessing care. Our free treatment care packs and the ongoing availability of the Pinks Retreat caravan have provided comfort, respite, and essential support to beneficiaries and their families during challenging times.

The Charity has also strengthened its role in promoting early detection and cancer awareness. We have delivered awareness events and workplace presentations across an increasing number of companies, supporting self-examination, early recognition of symptoms, and improved understanding of cancer risks. Our partnerships with local hospitals, GP surgeries, and Primary Care Networks have further enhanced our reach, with healthcare professionals regularly recommending our services to newly diagnosed patients.

In addition, we have invested in new wellbeing initiatives, including the introduction of “Pinks Get Fit” classes and Nordic Walking sessions, both of which have contributed to improved physical health, social connection, and emotional resilience among participants. Our fundraising events have continued to provide essential income while strengthening community engagement and awareness of our mission.

Collectively, these achievements demonstrate the Charity’s ongoing commitment to improving the circumstances of those affected by cancer and delivering wider benefits to society through awareness, education, and community support. Our work continues to ensure that no one faces cancer alone and that individuals and families across Staffordshire have access to compassionate, practical, and life-enhancing support.
