Carbon lon Therapy. what it is, how it works
and how it relates to adenoid ¢ystic
carcinoma and other salivary gland canc8rs.
The e¥ent also induded updates from the
2022 ASCO corrference from Dr Melcaw and
a fibwthllbeing session specrfically
focussed on relax*'on and exercises for the
leaffets, meeb'ngs, the Kebsite, social
medm fvndrwsing events.

SGC is now engaged and acts've on all of the

£39,922) the result of £8,174 in net receipts
for the year (prior year £13,314).
The Charity received income of £23,025
(prior year £27,832), the majority being
donations through various sourc88 including
donation platfomis and personal legacies,
together with other income received from

specthc fund raising events.
The chanty's financial position will allow

Salivary Gland Can￿r8, and the STARTER
registry, a clinical r8gi8try for rare adult solid
Can￿rs. Both projects have provided an
opportunity for European4yide collaboration
and network building across all cancer typ8S.

Guidelines for diagnosls, treatment and
follow-up are now available on our y￿b$Ite.
Expansion of the chanty's othputs to
pmvide moTr research and disease
The genomlcJ educational material tho
charty comm8nced work on in 2021, in
collaboration with Roche, was finalised and
publi6hed in 2022. The genomics leafi8t
highlights the benefits of tumour profiling to
develop new, better and more targeted
treatment8. Th8 material wlll infom patients
and also assist them in how to donate
tumours to the nats'onal salNary gland cancer
research programme at The Christie cancer
ntro.
