## INTRODUCTION

Born Equal is a charity committed to supporting individuals impacted by inequality, particularly those often marginalized or overlooked, we've remained resolute in our mission to make a positive difference through grant-making, advocacy, and collaborative efforts with like-minded organisations.

ADAPTING TO ONGOING CHALLENGES

In 2020, like many charitable organisations, Born Equal, along with our partners and beneficiaries, faced the formidable challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The continued and long-lasting effects of which led to a strategic decision to reassess and refocus Born Equal's priorities.

In the year that has transpired since the initial outbreak of the pandemic, Born Equal has diligently continued its operations while thoughtfully adjusting its growth and expansion plans. We've done so in order to closely monitor and respond to the evolving needs and issues faced by the very communities we exist to serve and support.

## SUSTAINED COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY

Our refocused priorities and objectives, extended into 2022, maintain a watchful eye on the persisting global inequalities exacerbated by multifaceted factors, including the alarming phenomenon of witchcraft accusations. Concurrently, we remain keenly attuned to the ever-changing geopolitical landscape, which has profound repercussions on the lives of those afflicted by such events.

Born Equal's dedication to advocacy remains unwavering, demonstrated through our continued membership in the Stop Child Witch Accusations (SCWA) steering group. Collaborating with religious institutions and communities, SCWA actively strives to prevent and mitigate the harm inflicted upon children due to witchcraft allegations.

COMMITMENT TO A CHANGING WORLD

Born Equal remains dedicated to achieving its core objectives – the eradication of discrimination and the advancement of social justice. We are acutely aware of the challenging and often unpredictable environment within which we operate, and we hold ourselves accountable for the effective management of our organisation. Our aim is to ensure we can consistently deliver activities for the public good and continue to serve as a catalyst for positive change.

As we navigate the ever-shifting landscape of inequality and social injustice, Born Equal remains dedicated to making a lasting impact and advocating for a more equitable world. We thank all our stakeholders for their unwavering support and look forward to continued collaboration in the pursuit of a fair and just society.
