Aims/Objectives

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in Liverpool and the surrounding area by the provision of facilities for playing cricket, Football, Badminton, and such other sports capable of improving physical health and fitness.

To allow the local community and residents, in particular but not exclusively residents of Sri Lankan origin/descent, by advancing education and providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.

We believe winning should not be our main priority. We aim to win, but to enjoy the day’s cricket, badminton and soccer, whilst net-working. We want to work towards making a good future for our youngsters.
Background and History

The club was initiated by four Sri Lankan friends in September 2017

First Indoor practice took place in October 2017

First AGM November 2017

Cricket Teams were named South Liverpool Cricket Club in January 2018
-
Subsequently many players have joined the club from different origins such as England, India & Pakistan, etc.

We played out first season with a Sunday Team and a Midweek Friendly Team 2018

At the beginning, majority of the players were from the South Liverpool area. But the current group of players are from all over Liverpool and Wirral.

Achievements
It should be said that due to Covid 19 restrictions, it has only been possible to play very
limited matches and activities during 2020/2021.

The Club currently fields 6 teams during the season – LDCC 3[rd] X1 Saturday and Sunday, T20 in the Liverpool Business Houses League and Last Man Standing. Also friendly X1’ matches at the weekends.

40 Playing Members (3 x under 16). Under 16 players accompanied by their parents who take responsibility.
