REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

2022/23

My husband's health has declined more and I still have not had the chance to develop The Jasmine Foundation further from its starting point. Again I can confirm the Jasmine Foundation has not received any public donation. All the proceeds are kept in an account with HSBC the same as from the beginning which were contributed by trustees and I from the start and my contribution £20 each month plus extra £20 on special occasions such as Mother day, Christmas…

2021/22

Another year has passed and The Jasmine Foundation hasn’t been developing any further and I, as Chairwoman, feel The Jasmine Foundation has gone back to the beginning.

There is nothing which has been done and gone anywhere. The Covid effect still is lingering about in order for us to plan anything especially for myself. I’m a carer for my husband and his health is not getting any better for me to think about anything else.

I can confirm the Jasmine Foundation has not received any public donation since it was approved in March 2019. All the proceeds are contributed by trustees from the beginning and my £20 monthly contributions which are kept in an account with HSBC. This amount will be donated to patients in Vietnam when I have a chance to go back there in the foreseeable future but at the moment I’m still looking forward to finding a solution for the Jasmine Foundation and my personal life including to look after my husband.

2020/21

Since Covid 19 has become pandemic, my Charity’s plan has stood still: I postponed my trip to VN from Feb 20 to Oct 20 and then cancelled it a few months after that.

The disease was then still progressing through stages with all different variants so overseas travelling was really difficult during 2020 and even though to the present.

Also there appears to be little chance to get public funding because people have been swamped with Covid 19 and the problems surrounding it, e.g., mental health, grieving family members, losing jobs etc… as I also have experienced with my husband’s illness.

I'm still hoping to go to VN one day in the near future to start the journey for The Jasmine Foundation.

The Jasmine Foundation has not received any public funding yet. I still keep a regular small donation every month from myself as Chair in the hope that small fund will help someone when I have a chance to go to VN.

2019/20

The Jasmine Foundation is registered with The Charity Commission and approved on 25th March 2019.

Since then, and for the six months after that the trustees have tried to improve the image of the charity further by applying for a bank account, setting up a website with its own logo, an email address etc... While the foundation has not got any funding yet so all the expenses came from my individual income (Chair - Phi Huynh-Baldock). Then my husband got ill, even though he was still a bright minded person at that time but his mobility was impaired. I had to concentrate most of my time to look after him. During that time while looking after my husband I sent out letters to big companies in the UK who also have a company branch in Ho Chi Minh City, in the hope of gaining seed donations for The Jasmine Foundation. I have not received any replies to date but I still hope they will hear my voice one day.

The Jasmine Foundation has not received any public funding yet apart from the seed donation from the trustees at the beginning and my regular monthly contribution.

I had planned to go to Vietnam in the middle of February 2020 to contact the officers at the Hospital where I met them on my last trip. I would like to let them know that I now have received an approval for my charity from the UK Government and want to donate the funding to cancer patients. The

funding is only a few hundred pounds, a small amount, but it’s the maiden voyage of The Jasmine Foundation. At the last meeting at the hospital, the Officers explained to me the procedure as to how to transfer funding to the cancer patients there and I would like to see at first hand those patients face to face to make sure our small funding has helped and brought hope to them.

Covid 19 has stopped my plan; the disease surged in Vietnam during the beginning of 2020 and it seemed dangerous to go there at that time so I cancelled my flight. Now, the disease has become a pandemic but I’m still hoping I will go there one day soon to give our funding to help cancer patients and also to search for additional funding opportunities.
