The object of the CIO is to offer financial assistance, where appropriate, to families who have children and /or young adults diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening illnesses. We raise money for families by organising events (psychic nights) tickets at £10 through online platform ticket source.  Raffle prizes at the event. Craft Fairs and Market Stalls. 

This year due to Covid restrictions we were not able to run events. We ran bring and buy sales with an honesty box for payment instead of attending craft fairs this year. 

Also plant sales from our Patron.

Our policy on grant making is referral from hospitals, i.e. the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, Birmingham Childrens Hospital, Nottingham University Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary. Also Teenage Cancer Trust Representative or ClicSargent Representatives can make referrals.

Families can be nominated by the hospital representative to Jordan's Weeones, either by post or email.  No financial information of family circumstances is requested on the application as we accept that any nominated family is already deemed in need of assistance by the hospital representative.

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The main achievement of our charity this year is that we have been able to support 28 families. Total grants issued to families this year is £4200.00 

We extended our reach from just the Birmingham hospitals to the Nottingham University Hospital so we now cover the East and West Midlands. We have reached out to Leicester Royal Infirmary as they are our local hospital, and are now taking applications from them also. 

Although our families can reside anywhere in the country, a lot travel a long way to reach these specialist hospitals which strains family finances so we are happy to be able to assist the families that need support. 

We have been nominated to the Leicestershire and Rutland Masonic Charity Association for a grant which we are hopeful we will get. 

We have also increased our social media followers to over 500 this year so we are getting our name out there. Wayne Berridge published his book on Bereavement and continues to work toward his level 4 in counselling. 

Although the year has been difficult in terms of Covid Restrictions we have managed to continue fund raising in non contact ways such as bring and buy sales with honesty boxes and online activity. 

We have had some really good feed back and testimonials which we post with permission on our web page. 

We are continuing to grow as a charity and looking forward to the coming year.

Reserves stay in the account until a grant request come in, we advise our hospital representatives of the funds available to keep grants coming in. We want to avoid a large build up of reserves, the money needs to be working for families that need it.

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity; 

Expenditure is kept as low as possible. Our expenditure would usually be for organisation of events and maintaining web domains. But this year we have not had any events due to Covid Restrictions, this has kept expenses low. 

The expenditure on web domains enables us to utilise social media platforms and just giving campaigns on our web site. We can also keep supporters up to date with how the money we raise is used. We can inform on the support we offer and also raise awareness of childrens cancer issues for families. We also share posts of other charities to promote giving to good causes.

We are a small Charity hoping to grow over the next few years so we can help more families in need. And offer larger grants.  Through our own experience we are aware of the strains and financial pressures of having a child/young person in long term hospital care, and the impact this has on the whole family.  We aim to help as many families as we can.
