The trustees are appointed in accordance with the terms of the constitution and must be agreed to by the other current trustees. The only appointment provision is that the role is a voluntary role. We expect a minimum two year commitment to the charity from all trustees.

To promote humane behaviour towards dogs in Romania in particular, but not exclusively, by supporting shelters that provide appropriate care, protection, treatment, and security for dogs which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage, rehoming dogs who are in need of rehoming and educating the public in matters pertaining to dog welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among dogs

GRANT MAKING POLICY
In furtherance of our charitable purposes we provide ongoing financial support by way of monthly grant payments to our preferred rescuers, predominantly based in Romania. Grant payments are a combination of, mostly, restricted and, to a lesser degree, unrestricted funds.

The charity has no paid staff and all of the activities undertaken are fulfilled by volunteers who undertake a range of activities including fundraising, running our social media pages and the rehoming of the dogs.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The transportation and rehoming of 190 dogs from Romania to the UK. Grants made to enable our preferred rescuers to meet the costs for the welfare of the dogs in their care, so they can be fed and cared for. The funding of vet bills for dogs being treated for parvovirus and needing orthopaedic operations in Romania.
The spay and neuter of 94 dogs. In addition, giving advice on the upkeep for those dogs that are owned and thereby improving their standards of welfare. The figure of neutered dogs does not include those of the supported rescuers, which are categorised under “outgoing vet costs”
