Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe maln achievoments of tho charlty durlng the yoar The summer sh(yw this year was a murder mystery called tha 'Mystery of Soddam Hall". It was held on June 9th and 10th aThJ perfomied with a smaller casL reduced hire of hall, less staging and scenery and a minimum of props. The audEnce were encotjraged to participate by asklng questions and guessing the murderer.Th6 winners on each night were given free panto lickets. Despite selling fewer ttckets and an increase in the hall rental, a sllghty higher n8t income was generated this year. The show was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Gavin for the programmes. Jean and Ben for lighting and sound, Lesley and Sally for refre5hrnents. Karen and Paul for the raffle, Nick for collecting gift aid fomis and (of course) to the cast for performing such a hard play. CongraluLgtions to Gavin for winning the first Vlcky Spencer Award. In September, Players participated in the Surbiton festival and held a quiz raising sorne addits'onal revenues. Both events were used to promote the pantomim8 in t)ecember. Rehearsals for the pantomlme. which this year was Cinderella. started with some difficulty due lo the stage not being accèssible for a number of weeks. Once again Illness disrupted rehe8rsals. We welcomed back our Iwo young players, Ell18 and Jessle, plus hvo new members Alisha arKI Donna made thelr debut. We were also lucky to have Anlonia 8ingirvJ In 3 of the 4 perfoman. There were no Friday thls year. only a matln88 and an evenlng show on each Saturday. The total ticket sales for all four pantomime shows were hffJher than last year, and, although retaining our table format, we managed to increase capacity. We a proud to have maintained ticket prices at the same level during these difficult times and still generale higher net income mpared to last year. Thanks to Jean for lending us her house and doing costumes and lighting, for Ben doing sound. Lesley for refreshments, Maggie for th8 raffle,Siobhan for props arKI Amanda for wlling it all together as only. she can. Well done to the whote cast and rnngratulations to Hannah for winning the second Vicky Spencer Trophy.. We presented the charity, Enhanceable, with donation of £1,000 at the end of 2023, and welcomed representatives from the charity at prcrfjuctions of the pantomime and summer show. A smaller donatlon was made to the Royal Marsden Cancer Chanty. We finished our year by singing to residenls in the Star and Garter Horne. Surt)iton, whith was a lovely rxcasion. TAR March 2012
