SWP successfully organised the Pride
Picnic. The event was held in Queens
park as an alternative location to
previous year’s annual event held in
the Old Town Garden: Swindon &
Wiltshire Pride Picnic. We were unable
to hold the main pride event at Old
Town Gardens, but we celebrated with
a family-friendly pride picnic. We had
over 500 people in our first pride
march since the pandemic and over
3,000 people in the park across the
day. This year at the Pride Picnic, we
had incredible food, the youth zone,
live entertainment, an LGBTQIA+ info
stall and our merch stall to raise much
needed funds for our charity. 6 hrs of

School got in touch with us as
they wanted to use Rainbow
walk in a school project “ We
are so proud that a piece of art
such as the Rainbow walk can
be used to get across such an
important message of
acceptance”

Thames water drain cover. “A
specially designed drain cover
has been unveiled by Thames
Water in Swindon to celebrate
the LGBTQ+ community.”
● Attending local Prides: Reading,
Gloucester, Oxford, Melksham,

● Rainbow walk refurbished –

second year in a row (top 10%

● We attended Lainesmead
Primary School for their
summer fete. This was the first
time Swindon and Wiltshire
pride have attended a primary
school and it was an absolute
pleasure, the school and
families were so welcoming.

bassett school and provided
them with pronoun badges and
flags for them to celebrate
pride month.

organisations: scheduled
regularly on all our Social Media

● Throughout 2022 SWP has been
contacted by people seeking
support and information. Via
