volunteering from the Executive Committee and
Trustees, and the adaptability due to the
Pandemic.
In 2020, we were unable to produce an annual
Pride Programme, due to the Pandemic and
our annual LGBTQ+Festival was staged online|
with support from local musicians who gave up their time freely.

During the lockdown the Trustee
focused on strengthen our Charities
policy’s.
Prior to the pandemic SWP attend 2
local events ‘The Christmas light switch
on’, in the Town Centre and Old Town,
this ensured our visibility in the
community and allowed us to Signpost
to various support agencies in Wiltshire.
SWP hosted monthly camp bingo
sessions at The Waiting Room from
September 2019 to February 2020 to
help raise funds for the main event in
2020. These sessions always have
good community engagement and
always in high demand.
Prior to lockdown two face-2-face
fundraisers were achieved for SWP,
and a third where money was raised for
Terrence Higgins Trust.
During the lockdown, SWP thought of
different ways to engage and support
the community through these difficult
times. Carrying out weekly online
entertainment, money was raised for
the Swindon Food Collective and SWP
encouraged viewers to donate whilst
doing their weekly shop to the local
food banks.
Our annual event was staged online
due to the lockdown, the online activity
has allowed the community to be part of
our journey through the pandemic and
given people something to look forward
to, who may have been isolated at
home community.
Our engagement for our online
fundraising events had a record number
of viewers and SWP reached a total of
141,982 views.
Our Social Media focus during
lockdown has been on posts relating to
engagement, LGBTQ+ history and
education, along with signposting to
various support agencies. This has
provided support to people that have
experienced isolation due to the
pandemic.|
- The pop-up shop returned in Pride month and operated within COVID-19 guidelines / restrictions, this allowed us to reach out to community and provide a safe space for people to attend, to pick up information and to talk to the committee. The pop-up shop provided a real outlet for the community to feel supported.
## **Financial Review**

Review of the charity’s Para 1.21 Like many Pride's SWP made the call early to
financial position at the end postpone the main Pride event till 2021. This
of the period was extremely important for the safety of the
community, the reputation of the charity and to
help safeguard our financial assets.
Cash at bank at 31/09/2020 was £44k in
unrestricted fund.
Within the 2020 period SWP was successful in
raising money through Sponsorship and some
through Fundraising / Grants due to the
Pandemic. This allowed us some financial
stability going into 2021, thanks to our loyal
sponsors, whom agreed to carry forward there
sponsorship for the event next year.

To move forward with planning the Annual Event in 2021 and production of a Pride Guide, pending the lifting of government restrictions due to the Pandemic and to ensure the sustainability of the Charity through this uncertain time.
Continue to strengthen the organisation, through recruitment of new Trustees and Committee Members.

To continue to grow our presences within the LGBTQ+ community and stage an annual event looking at ways to expand and cater for the wider community.
Encouraging more Community Engagement throughout the year, as Swindon & Wiltshire lacks a permanent LGBTQ+ space.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

During the year a committee member fraudulently used charity monies for personal use. Upon discovery of this the member was removed from their position and all access revoked. All of the misused monies were returned to the charity prior to the 30/09/20 year end. Additional controls have now been put in place to avoid this happening again.
