## Objectives and activities 

Charitable objects: 

- (1) To advance the Islamic religion in United Kingdom for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on Islam to enlighten others about the Islamic faith. 

- (2) To advance in life and help young people through: 

- (a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; 

- (b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to relief unemployment and to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals 

- (3) The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship anywhere in the world by: (a) providing donations, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty; 

(b) providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. 



## **Projects:** 

## Winter Relief Campaign (2020) 

This year we continued with the winter project for the homeless that we started last winter. We aimed to help more homeless individuals to get through this year especially with the Covid-19 crises and spread our work to different areas of London. To do this, we teamed up with Muslim Hands who supported our cause and offered us 250 covid-19 health kits and 100 winter survival kits. 

The covid-19 health kit consisted of: five face masks, six alcohol wipes, a 90-gram soap, five vinyl gloves and a 100 ml Hand Sanitizer. The survival pack consisted of Sleeping bags, Survival bag, Socks, Gloves and Hat. 

We have distributed the health kits and winter survival packs in the following areas of London; Leyton, Leytonstone, Walthamstow, Mile End, Bank and in the London borough of Newham. 

## Somalia Ramadan Appeal 2020 

In Ramadan 2020, we launched a new project where we wanted to support poor and vulnerable families in Somalia by providing them with essential food which they can use to feed families and to break their fast with. This was our first international project. We targeted this country because Somalia was facing a severe drought that has affected more than 2 million people with food resources being scarce affecting many families. We wanted to support and help these families in such dire and critical time. In total we have helped and provided food packages to 150 vulnerable families. 

Each food package contained 

12.5 kg of Rice 

- 12.5 kg of Sugar 

10 kg of Flour 

- 3 litres of Oil 

2 kg of Dates 

- 1 box of Pasta that contained 7 packs 



## Online Islamic Academy 

We launched an online academy that provides Islamic education to enlighten others about the Islamic faith through the means of live courses that are structured and designed for progression in Islamic knowledge. The courses are provided free of charge as teachers have offered their services on voluntary basis. Providing the courses online has allowed us to benefit students across the UK as well as students from around the world. We currently have students registered from UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore 

## Yemen Relief Campaign 

Yemen is a country that has been affected by war, poverty and famine and the people of Yemen are currently experiencing the world's worst humanitarian crisis and are in urgent need of help to ensure their health and safety. This year, our team has set out to help the people of Yemen, especially vulnerable families who find it difficult to provide for themselves due to poverty or difficulty in attaining food by handing out food packages, similar to our project in Somalia. We have volunteers working on the ground in one of the most affected areas in Yemen to ensure the civilians seeking help are being taken care of and receive our food packages. 

Each food package contains: 

5Kg Flour 

5Kg Rice 

5Kg Sugar 

4L of Oil. 

However, unfortunately, due to the unforeseen circumstance of covid-19 pandemic, this project has been put on hold until restrictions are lifted and we deem it fit and safe to operate on the grounds. 



## Orphans Trust Project 

The orphans trust project is an initiative to build orphanages that provide food, shelter, education with workshops, social stability and health care so that young vulnerable orphans can grow to become confident and self-sufficient adults, giving them a positive start in life. The project is aimed to start supporting orphans in poverty-stricken countries and grow to operate globally. 

The objective is to build a self-sufficient orphanage that has facilities like education centre, health services, centre for prayer and spirituality, dormitories and an outdoor sports and play area. A portion of land will also be allocated towards agriculture and farming to grow our own food. 

Our goal is to equip young children with lifelong skills including communication, team work, problem solving, leadership, social skills and many more whilst also building on their self-esteem. 

Our first project was set to build an orphanage in Uganda where we raised money to carry out phase 1 of the project; which is to excavate the land the orphanage was set to be built on in order to prepare the land for the laying of the foundation of the orphanage. 

Just like the Yemen relief campaign, this project has also been put on hold due to the covid-19 pandemic until restrictions are lifted and it is once again safe to operate 

## Financial review 

## Statement on reserves 

Our current reserves limit is £3500. This means any amount of unrestricted funds up to and including £3500 may be reserved by the charity, for the reasons outlined in reserves policy. We aim to only have an amount of reserves that is proportionate to what is required to continue our existing operations and respond to any urgent operational needs that may arise, in the face of unexpected financial implications. Income from any sources are principally used to further our charitable purposes and benefit those whom we work with.  Our reserve limit will be adjusted accordingly as our work progresses, which will be reflected in our Reserves Policy.
