The DEMBE Foundation Report of the trustees for the year ending 30 June 2024 The governors of The DEMBE Foundation present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 30 June 2024 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charitie5 Act 2011, the trust deed and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). Our Aims: To support the ongoing endeavours of the DEMBE Theatre {formally The David Evans Court Theatre) to exist as an independent theatre for the use and benefit of the local community We help.. Young people to access the theatre and benefit from its provision Charities, Community Groups and Amateur Groups to use the theatre for charitable events and performances, participation in which benefits their members and the wider community Our objectives: In this first year of the name change from The David Evans Grass Roots Foundation, to the DEMBE Foundation, our attention has been on ensuring the future sustainability of The DEMBE Theatre (Formally The David Evans Court Theatre), as a theatre venue in the heart of the community. As well as focusing on ensuring the theatre has a sustainable future, we are also working to build an in-house education and experience programme for the benefit of young people and the wider community. Review of artivities and achievements / future plans: We have been undertaking research, developing ideas and engaging with the community, ready for the charity (DEMBE Foundation) to begin the active work of running the theatre in 2025. Finances: The charity hasn't received any donations since 2019.
