Objectives and activities
Objects of Charity
The charity is governed by constitution and the main objectives are the furtherance of the Christian Faith. In order to do this, regular activities are carried out and invitations given out to public. Finance is raised purely from members’ contributions. The day to day running of the church is delegated by the Trustees to the Pastor.
1
Summary of main activities in relation to these objects
The Charity exists to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to teach people the bible. All our activities reflect these core goals. The Church arranges or participates in a number of activities to this end, namely Bible Conferences, Marriage Seminars, Men’s Discipleships, Revival Meetings with visiting preachers, Tent Crusades (home and abroad).
We have complied with our duty to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Achievements and performance
2021 was themed as the year of favour. We had a full schedule planned throughout the year hoping to engage with both the community and the congregation after such a turbulent year in 2020. Whilst COVID-19 remained as a constant restraint and backdrop of many events and plans, we were able to press on with the vast majority of our plans, tweaking some to ensure it was safe for all involved.
Throughout the year we hosted four revival services with visiting speakers, a highlight was the first set of services with Ps. Danny Crisp who ministered on the theme of mental health and the mind. A very timely and helpful week for all who attended. Some of our ministries remained on zoom for the start of the year such as our bible study groups and children church but as COVID began to ease we also eased our restrictions and gladly brought things back to a face-to-face ministry.
Despite the COVID restrictions we continued to look outwards to enable people to know about the gospel message and reaching those in need. Our outreach strategies were a great success. We initiated two days of pop-up Park music events in various locations around the city, a basketball tournament, zoom movie nights, Ladies testimony nights and even a Christmas choir and full drama presentation. We were able to engage with many people, both young and old, and some have chosen to attend church and are seeing their lives impacted by Jesus today. We sent outreach teams to various cities throughout the UK from Portsmouth to Liverpool and even flew to Belfast.
This was truly a year of favour because:
-
Various congregational members experienced personal favour with job promotions or new homes.
-
The church plant into Worcester started with great enthusiasm and success by reaching local people and seeing lives changed by the gospel.
-
Our church in Walsall overcame months of difficulty by closing the year with applications for a new church building. These were approved and acted upon at the beginning of 2022. The church is now experiencing a fresh new chapter.
2
- The men’s football team brought back the trophy from our annual 5 a side football tournament.
Due to the increase in finances, the church undertook and began an internal building project to renovate the church kitchen, nursery, office and children’s/prayer room. This project was initiated because we foresaw a need to facilitate our growing ministry. The project was completed in 2022 and is a much better facility for our growing and vibrant church.
Financial review
The finances from 2021 reflected peoples love for God and re-commitment to their church after such a trying year in 2020. We are glad to report an increase from the previous year and used the extra cash flow to invest in the renovation of various ministry rooms and continue our commitment to discipleship, church planting and world evangelism. The church council was very glad to be able to respond to various needs within our three pioneer churches. These needs included a returning couple from Chelmsly Wood, pastoral support and legal fees. It was also a joy to be able to give liberally to, and therefore support, our church national events in July and November.
Policy on reserves
The charity has no reserve policy. Restricted funds are normally used up when raised.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS
To the Trustees of
The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship UK Erdington Church For the Year Ended 31 December 2021
Charity number 1182380
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31[st] December 2021, which are set out on Pages 6 and 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

-
