2024.
Obj¢¢tiv•s and activltle$
The objectives ol the CIO are lo advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of beliets
primarily Ibul not exclusively) in Eastbourne.

South Street Free Church is a CIO governed by its Constitution registered with the Charity Commission
on the 7 March 2019.

The Church Is run by the trustees. New trustees are 8ppointed from the elders and dea￿n$ of the
Church, in accordance wrth section 15 of our Constiluts'on.

This year our church has continued its regular ministry of public worship on Sundays, morning & evening,
continuing to live stream this online auoss the who18 year.
Up to the end of March, Davld Knight continued to work full-time as Evangellst, and his activities Included
running the weekly Tuesday moming study group that used resources provided free-of-charge from
Ligonier Ministries (both regular church allendees and outsiders frequently came along to these limes and
benelitted from Iheml, running 8 Christian chaplaincy at the Stage¢oa¢h employees, base, taking school
assemblies in the Haven Pnmary School, running the Friday evening Football club (much enjoyed by both
Christians and non-chrisliansl. and keeplng our fre8-resource8 tsble in the foyer well-slocked for visitors
and ￿9￿larS lo benefit from.
Our church's women's group Iwhlch since February has been ￿naMed lo Refresh) which is open lo
women both who are regular church attendees and those who are not, has mel 7 limes across the year,
and been an encouragement and benefit to those that have attended, on themes such as keeplng your
balance. and hope amidst anxiety.
During this year the pastor look a 3-month sabbatical (August lo October Inclusivèl which was 8 very
helpful time for him and Elaine to Tefresh and recha¥ge. During that time they visited the Popileascos Ithe
missionary family that our church supports in Moldoval, hopefully encouraging them and seeing their
srtuation first-hand. Shortly after this visf(. the Popilea￿0 family visited us in EastboLFrne for a couple of
weeks from the end of January into early February. Apart from David & Elaine's visit lo Moldova, this was
the first lime the church met Vasilii and their daughter Damaris land, for some in the church, the first time
they met Ewelinal.
During the year we wnts'nued our monthly Zoom prayer times for the Popileascos to joln us from Moldova,
and expanded il lo include ￿ pastors regularly joining us, one of 8 church in Comwall and the other of a
church in India. whom we seek to support in prayer. We have also continued our weekly Tuesday-evening
prayer meeting, in which we pray both for our own needs as a church and for the needs of others, locally
and internationally.

Revlew of Activities (¢ontlnuedl
OLJr outreach to the community with the Good News of Jesus has Continued weekty throughout the year,
and also included Part￿Ular focussed campaigns during the town's Airbourne Mr Show in August and the
Little Christmas street event in early De￿Mber.
Monthly services at local care homes have continued across the year. aiming to take the Good News
of salvats'on through Jesus Christ to their eldety residents,
The ¢hurch has continued running its annual 'Shoe Bags, project, in wh￿h it prepares and sends
pa¢kages of Christmas gifts tr) children in Sierra Leone who would otherwise receiv8 no Christmas
Presents.
We have also continued our regular support of the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team (who seek to prevent
sulcides at Beachy Headl, the SierTa Leone Mission, PARCHE (who cooidinate leams tsking Christian
services in Ea$lbourne's care homes), SASRA {who seek to mirsister the Christian Good News amongst
the armed forces), Care Sri Lanka. the Slavic Gospel Association Iwho work in Eastern Europe, Central
Asia and Far East RLtssial. and th8 Bainabas Fund {who support persecuted Christians across the world).
In summary, we thank the God and Falhef of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, for all that He has
enabled us to do in His service over the course of this year. We trust In Him, and seek to please Him
depending on His Splril, and we look lo Him to provide for us to continue lo do His work over the coming
year. May Christ's name b8 honoured and glorif￿d through u$.

The trustees have paid due regard to th8 guidance issued by the Chanty Commi5slon in deciding what
activities the Church should undertake.

These financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basls. There was a net
deficit on fvnds for the year of £18,525 12023.deflclt of £23,246) leaving a balance on cash funds of
£30,853 al 30 June 202412023.. £49.378).
The Church has a reseNe policy of ensuring at least three months of annual expenditure is held in
reserve, in order for the church lo be able to meet its financial commitments to its paid employees li.e. Its
pastor and its evangelist. though the latter has now finished his employment at the church as of the end of
March 20241.

The trustees continually consider the major risks to which the Church is exposed, and are sali5fied that
systems are in place to mitigate exposure to these nsks.
