Trustees' Report

The Trustees present the annual report together with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2020.

Structure, governance and management

Nature of governing document

Beyond Your Walls Ministries is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), number 1182356 - 06 March 2019.

Recruitment and appointment of Trustees

The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the constitution.

The Trustees look for persons of proven integrity who share the vision and objectives of the charity and who have relevant wisdom and experience to contribute to it's running.

Induction and training of trustees

Each new Trustee is provided with the relevant Charity Commission publications a copy of the constitution and at a meeting with the Chairman fully briefed on the operation of the Trust and the responsibilities of Trustees.

Organisational structure

The Charity is organised with a Board of Trustees to oversee planning, administration and financial control.

The Trustees are empowered to appoint additional Trustees under the terms of the constitution. There have been no changes in the number of Trustees during the period.

The day to day running of the charity is overseen by a part time Pastor who is supported others who give their time voluntarily.

Risk management

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, in particular those related to the operations and finances of the Charity, and are satisfied that systems and procedures are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

The Trustees consider that the greatest risk to the financial wellbeing of the Charity is a drop in numbers of those attending Impact Christian Centre. The Trustees have contingency plans to reduce operating costs in that event.

Objectives and activities

Objects and aims

Beyond Your Walls Ministries ministers in worship of God, the instruction and edification of Christians, the evangelisation of non Christians; the relief of poverty and sickness, education in Christian principles and the advancement of the Christian faith generally.

Trustees' Report

Public benefit

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Achievements and performance

Review of activites

The main activities of the ministry is to teach, train and mentor people in the Christian faith through social media and live training sessions. We offer a high level of expertise in training people for the Christian ministry and ministerial support and prayer. We also support church growth through teaching both in the UK and overseas as required.

The Trustees wish to place on record their thanks to all those involved in providing the high level of training and support and for all their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

At the beginning of the year the governance and accounts were transferred from Impact Christian Centre International, an unincorproated charity, to continue with the work of this ministry.

Financial review

Funds were transferred from the unincorporated chairty, Impact Christian Centre, at the beginning of the financial year. Income for the year amounted to £15,078 and expenditure £16,856. Funds carried forward were £3,642.

Investment policy and objectives

Funds which are temporarily surplus to immediate requirements are kept in high interest bearing deposit accounts. The acting treasurer monitors the position to maximise interest. At the present time there are no other medium or long term investments.

Going concern

After making appropriate enquiries, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the Accounting Policies.

1 Accounting policies

Statement of compliance

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.

Basis of preparation

Beyond Your Walls Ministries meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy notes.

Going concern

The Trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.

Income and endowments

All income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.

Gift aid

Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation.

Expenditure

Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly to that activity.

Grant provisions

Provisions for grants are made when the intention to make a grant has been communicated to the recipient but there is uncertainty about either the timing of the grant or the amount of grant payable.

Notes to the Financial Statements for the Year Ended 30 September 2020

Tangible fixed assets

Tangible fixed assets are carried at cost, net of depreciation and any provision for impairment.

Depreciation and amortisation

Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:

Asset class

Computer equipment

Depreciation method and rate 33% on cost

Cash and cash equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-term highly liquid investments that are readily convertible to a known amount of cash and are subject to an insignificant risk of change in value.

Liabilities

Liabilities are recognised when there is an obligation at the Balance sheet date as a result of a past event, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefit will be required in settlement, and the amount of the settlement can be estimated reliably.

Liabilities are recognised at the amount that the charity anticipates it will pay to settle the debt or the amount it has received as advanced payments for the goods or services it must provide.

Fund structure

Unrestricted income funds are general funds that are available for use at the Trustees's discretion in furtherance of the objectives of the charity.

Financial instruments

The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their settlement value with the exception of bank loans which are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
