This yéar sees our rescue In its fourth year OF trodin9. We hav• made It through pandomics
and the trustees and volunteers ore still committed to the wolfare and rescu8 of l•rr•ts in
the North East Ulc Followin9 th• pandemlc thore have been rocord numbérs of
abtjndonned pondemic pets and farrets ar• t￿Ing dumped and surrendered at r•cord
rates. Tho cost-ol_Iivin9 crisis has also posed a hu90 threat to animd w•lfor8 with owners
struggling with the cost ol feeding and vet car•.
We continved to provide the oxc•llent caro that tho roscu• has prided itsolf on For th•
last four years. Our voluntéers have worked tirelessly to provid• care and enrichment for
each and every lerrats that has entered the rescve and we continve to provide medical
interv•ntions svch as n•uterin9, vaccinations, microchipping, etc.- for tho hundrods of
forrets we see ovory year. This year we were successful In securing fvnding For som•
improvements and rennovatlons to the rescue to increase our C¢JPOCity as a r•scu•.
Our volunteor programme has gained a new Yolunteer ct)ordinator this year and we hav
increased our trustee numbers. We wolcoma Jode Gardinor, Howell Davies ¢Jnd Vickn Hall
to the rescue management team. We would also like to say a big Ihank you to ovr
outgoing Trustees, Tracey Mowatt ond Rachel Thompson who havé 6•en a great assot to
ovr organisation and will be a huge miss.

This year we Ivck to have appli•d and
boen accaptad for a numbar of grants to assist
in running the charity and developing the
r•scve facilit105. The following grants wer•
r•c•iwd..
During 2022/23 wo held a nvmbef ol ev•nts
to b8n8lit local ferret owners and rn8mbers OF
the public. Two ferrat show5 wore hald in
December and March which attracted a lot
of attendoes and visitors. Fun wa5 had by all
and there ware some beautihjl ferrets that all
deserved to win a rosatte. The rescue would
like to thank the Judge5. Stewards and
voluntoers that vffjrk so hard to make these
evants a success. We appointed Trustao, Lisa
Thornpson-Gill8tt as shop martragef to
organi59 rnerchondice and donated goods
lor sale on stalls to raise hjnds. W• olso set up
crafting group of fantastic volunteers that
create harTr05ses, hammocks, toys and other
goods lor sale. trt is hoped that this will
provide fvrther volunteerins opportunitias for
people that anjoy crafting.

Foundation which is a registored charity link•d
to Pets at Home. They balieve that every pet
de￿￿85 a loving krever home and over tha
years they have worked alongsi de rescue ar
r•homing organisations across the country who
strvv8 to help pets in naod find thair fofovar
loving homes. We received É10270 towords
vets bills. feed and housing costs, eqviprnent
ond building work to open vp our indoor space
to be u$8d for a critical care ara
