OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document: The Object of the Church is for the advancement of the Christian faith and for public benefit. Summary of the main activities in relation to those are identified in the accounts. The overall programme of worship and community activity is shown below.. Worship, communion, and family services for all continued during 2023 as we welcomed many new faces into the congregation. Programmes for children and young people continued to grow and empower the younger generation. Life Groups continue to be the real connecting point of Life Church as people gathered in homes around the city during the week. Currently12 groups meet. Alpha continues as our introduction to faith of new people from the community and beyond. Lunch Club reached out once again to those who would norrnally eat alone, in the pursuit of reducing isolation. Specifically in 2023 the below was initiated or developed. We celebrated everyone who serves in Life Church with a Celebration meal in April with 70 people attending We held 3 'Love Life, Sundays to welcome people in and develop friendship with the church Saltmine theatre company visited 2 schools with their presentation 'rhyming bible, Saltmine also presented their Christmas play'peter Pan, with over 30Q non church people attending. Schools work rapidly expanded during the year under the leadership of Connor ouryouth worker. We extended the hours of our Y&K worker and Church Manager In Maywe organised a BIG Lunch to celebrate the Coronation. In June we ran a Missions evening-with Release International £70,000 was sent to further extend school building in Kenya We did a number of smaS1 alterations on the building including our Led lighting extended. Summer Coffee-mornings were held on the car park to welcome the neighbourhood to us. New'one off Worship Evenings were introduced in July & October Two teenagers were sponsored to join a youth training programme called Amplify Our annual Leadership retreat was held welcoming 30 people for the day.

We ran Christmas events and handed out a number of Christmas hampers to local families. Provide space for worship and connection. Contribute to the spiritual and moral education of children &young people. Contribute to a better society by the provision of a lunch club to reduce social isolation and a toddler group to promote social cohesion. Provide comfort to the bereaved. Contribution made by volunteers: A great contribution is made by our partners and volunteers. We are grateful for the many hours which volunteers have spent to enable the charityto fulfil its purpose with all generations of our community. Without this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not have been able to achieve so much. Grant-making Policy: The Trustees alongside the Finance Team decide upon individuals and organisations that are to receive financial support out of the charity's assets. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to Society as a whole: The Saltmine Theatre Company were in 2 schools with their presentation of the Fihyming bible. Alpha welcomed many new people to explore the Christian faith. Three Love Life Sundays held in January, June and September. Weekly Youth and Children's activities AND a weekend at Whitemoor Lakes. Lunch Club- weekly serving in excess of 40 local people. The building continues to be well utilised by outside organisations.. For example: The model railway club. NHS, Foodbank. keep fit, U3A Approximately 100 people are listed as seNing on Church rotas during 2023 FUTURE PLANS We continue to aim our focus on discipleship and mission over the next years. This will be achieved primarily through our series of LIFE GROUPS. The plan is to be a church

that is not simply'sunday-centric, but develop faith and mission all week, through the Life Groups, which we are continuing to develop with more groups and greater connection. We will continue to invest time and training to the Lifè Groups and their hosts to see this develop and fulfil the vision of Life Church. FINANCIAL REVIEW Reserves Policy: This is the church's policyto hold a minimum equivalent to four month's expenditure and a maximum ofeight month's expenditure. excluding any designated funds, so as to enable it to continue operating during a short-term down- turn in its income, or to allow a period of restructuring should a longer~term down- turn occur. However this is an Unrestricted Fund and can be accessed if deemed necessary. This amounts to a min of an estimated £50,000 for the period of this report. Actual Unrestricted cash reserves held on 31" December 2023 were £721,910. Investment Selection Policy.. The church currently only invests in cash deposits with UK banks. The charity's principal source of funds continues to be partner donations.
