Sec>on B: Structure Governance and Management
The Worshipful Company of Firefighters Charitable Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisa[on (CIO) whose only vo[ng members are its Charity Trustees. The charity has the “Founda[on” model cons[tu[on. New Trustees are appointed by the Board of Trustees to The Worshipful Company of Firefighters Court of Assistants for approval, in accordance with the Cons[tu[on. Three Trustees re[re each year at the end of their terms of office and may stand for re-elec[on for two further terms of three years, a`er which they must re[re for a minimum period of one year before being eligible to stand for re-elec[on.
Trustees normally meet at least four [mes a year and all decisions pertaining to the governance and management of the Charity are taken at those mee[ngs. The preference of

Trustees is to meet in person at least twice a year with other mee[ngs on-line. In view of the small size of the Charity, the Trustees have chosen not to delegate any of their powers to sub-commiVees, although certain individuals act as Ambassadors for the Charity, liaising with and monitoring grant awards. The Charity does not employ any staff directly but operates a
Memorandum of Understanding for Administra[ve and Back Office support with The Worshipful Company of Firefighters using the services of The Clerk, Informa[on Technology Manager and office premises. These arrangements are reviewed annually.
Sec>on C: Objec>ves and ac>vi>es
The objects of the charity as set out in its governing document remain as follows:
a) The advancement of public educa[on in fire safety maVers and in furtherance thereof to award scholarships or bursaries or prizes for people involved with or associated with firefigh[ng, rescue or fire safety, who in the opinion of the Trustees would benefit from the scholarship,
b) To establish and support a museum and/or to accept gi`s or loans of equipment and artefacts, and
c) To support such chari[es and charitable purposes as the Trustees shall decide.
Over the last year the Trustees provided addi[onal clarity on where the Trustees will give priority to grant applica[ons which are submiVed via the on-line portal are as follows:

Young People, Leadership, Development and Responsible Ci[zenship.

Blue Light and other Emergency Response Services that provide cover mainly, but not exclusively in the City of London.

Educa[on and Research Projects associated with Fire and Rescue, Fire and Building Safety, Environment and the Fire Industry.

Fire and Rescue Heritage.

Na[onal Chari[es associated with Fire and Rescue and the Fire Industry.

Lord Mayor's, Livery Company and City of London Chari[es.
Sec>on D: Achievements and performance
During the repor[ng period the following grants were made to the following applicants:

Essex Downs Syndrome 21 - £4,000

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Fire Cadets, (Phase 1) - £9,795

Antarc[c Fire Angels - £5,800
An award of £1,000 and a Cer[ficate of Achievement has been made to Alex Bulloch a Post Graduate Student from the Glasgow Caledonian University, for his outstanding Disserta[on in the field of Fire Safety.

Sec>on E: Financial review
During the period covered by this report, gross income from various sources was £21,125. Expenditure amounted to £23,374. Including the balance of cash carried forward, the yearend total financial assets were made up of £56,637 banked and £431,911 in capital investments.
Income was received predominantly from two main sources –
1. Worshipful Company of Firefighters Member Charitable Giving - £8,365
2. Income from the Capital Investment Account - £8,965
The Charity has a Capital Investment Account managed by JM Finn, which at the end of the accoun[ng period is valued at £431,911.
The Charity’s bank accounts are held at Metro Bank, 1 Southampton Row, London. WC1B 5HA. A/C 34833397, 23-05-80.
The Charity has no funds materially in deficit.
