Public Benefit guidance:
As trustees of The Hangout charity, we have given regard to the commission’s public benefit guidance and have taken it into account when making relevant decisions.
Summary of main achievements:
This year has been about getting the charity into a position to be able to run sessions for young people and their families safely on site and to network with referral agencies about the support we can offer.
We successfully passed the stringent application for Social Farms & Gardens, a care farm association with self-imposed standards of conduct. Pat has networked regularly with local mental health forums and volunteer associations to share our service with social prescribers and other not for profit organisations. This has led to links with Carmarthenshire CCouncil social prescribers, Carmarthenshire Home Education support, Coed Lleol, Tircoed, Area 43, Aman Valley School, Swansea Bay Adoption Servies and other local groups.
We have run a number of very successful family activity sessions promoting side by side learning and an enjoyment of the outdoors.
Financial Review:
As of Oct 2021 income was £23,240 with current expenditure at £5,546.92. £5000 is in reserve to renew the surface of the indoor barn that is booked to begin this month.
£1000 in reserve for insurance renewal in June 2022 New sources of funding will need to be found and applied for early in 2022
Trustee appointments:
Hannah Cantwell and Ashley Holt were appointed as trustees. Each were required to submit an application as to how they could support the charities’ endeavors and were interviewed by current Trustees in post. A vote was then cast to accept or reject their appointment.
