TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2023.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

To relieve the needs of people in North West England, including but not exclusively in the Blackburn and wider East Lancashire regions who are in need, hardship or distress, and in particular by providing support, education, and temporary and longer terms accommodation with the object of improving their conditions of life within a Christian ethos.

The trustees have complied with the requirements of the Charity Commission with regard to public benefit.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

Arise Restoration Centre continues to provide crisis intervention services and crisis prevention services for people who are in high risk exposure to, for example, hunger, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, or negative and destructive health lifestyles which can or may lead to depravity or suicide.

In June 2023 Project Arise launched a new programme called “Cycle For Life” after receiving a grant from Community Asset Fund to purchase 12 bikes. This programme gives disadvantaged people, especially those in Recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and mental health distress at various levels, access to riding bikes on the trails in Wittion Park, Blackburn in collaboration with Blackburn with Darwen Health and Wellbeing programme at Witton Park .

FINANCIAL REVIEW

The charity is reliant on donations and small grants. At the year end, the funds of the charity amounted to £691. A reserves policy is being formulated.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

The charity is established as a CIO – Foundation Registered 27 February 2019. The trustees are appointed by the existing trustees as and when a need arises; the trustee body meets on a regular basis to consider the making of grants from the charitable funds.

Risk Review

The Trustees are introducing a risk management process to assess business risks and implement systems to mitigate these risks.
