WITHOUT WALLS COMMUNITY CHURCH 2021-2022

01

**Without Walls Community Church is reporting on its progress post Covid and the financial year 2021/22.**

God has kept us through this year so that we are able to progress forward. This has been a challenging year for the charity since returning to the building and after meetings, the Trustees agreed to focus on meeting the needs of the community around us.

The Charity saw growth on the online biblical enlightenment meetings and prayer meetings and set out to work with with the local Community organisations, Elderly & Community Forums & Education establishments.

In conclusion of this section, the Charity has spent this year working on ways for the church to work closer with the community. This meant we have to change the way we go about out-reach in the community to reflect the multi-cultural community.

**We want to start with a BIG 'thank you' to all the members who stood with us, this financial year and made tremendous efforts in seeking innovative ways to bring the charity forward in meeting the physical & spiritual needs of the community, the charity kept going because of the commitment of the members.**

Since achieving charity status, formally giving the group a 'name' and subsequently with the passing of Overseer H U Powell from Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ (BUCJC), the group took the decision to focus working in the community of Redditch and seek affiliation with organisations able to work with the church/charity, so the charity can concentrate on meeting local needs.

WWCC also voted to embrace members of the community, whether they fellowshipped with us or not in line with Isaiah 58:7 and in doing so made some difficult decisions and voted to cease affiliation with (BUCJC) and want to thank all those from BUCJC who supported the past Redditch Church. However to conclude this section, the charity is looking forward to change and have been through a challenging year, but have nevertheless been blessed more than we could ever believe and wholeheartedly believe that the blessings we have received, we should also freely, pass on.

## trustees comments

This year was challenging for the church as we have been tested in every area of the our ministry objectives both spiritually and physically. We have had to seriously look within at our approach and methods that we were using and sometimes, not using. We as the Trustees had to admit that we were not doing all that we should and could and was reminded of our responsibilities towards the ministry and the charity and that we needed to be more active & effective in our work. This led to us planning and focusing on a more targeted approach to evangelism and meeting local needs. Below are a few foundation works we started to prepare for change.

1 2 3 **Weekly Gatherings**

## **WWCC - Garden**

**The Community**

A community garden was planted where we planted tomatoes, carrots, peas and all vegetables which can be given to those in need and to teach children & youths to grow plants and food.

We have changed the way we come together so that our visitors & members have a more welcoming environment and the order of service more suited to members and non-members.

We are working with the local Community organisations to provide 'warm spaces' and producing programs to help with youth training and engage parents.

## going forward

**Performance goals are needed in order for us to progress. The Charity sets out some realistic goals in moving forward. Goals that are SMART. Specific, measured, achievable, realistic and timed. The charity is recognises the need to remain focused especially in this time of great change, post-Covid and in preparation in the event of any possible future 'lock downs'.**

The Charity has managed to meet its financial obligations for the year and accrued savings because of the way the building has been used. We have been fortunate to be supported with donations and gifts to help us maintain, run the building and to meet community needs.

All leading officers are DBS checked and the charity has all its working documents in place for public scrutiny on request. The Trustees & leaders have set the foundation, through meetings and open discussions on in-activities and on things that has gone well. We will be working Collaboratory with other organisations so that we are able to meet the needs of the community where practical and working to key targets in order to meet our objectives. As part of growth, formal training is required for officers to assist them in carrying out their Trustees duties. The Trustees and co-opted members have remained the same whilst we are endeavoring change and has also agreed to keep the Independent Examiner. Our main targets are below:-

1

**OPENING OUR DOORS TO MEET THE PHYSICAL NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.**

**WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS.**

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of**

## **WITHOUT WALLS COMMUNITY CHURCH**

## **For the year ended 31 March 2022**

I report on the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity's trustees (who are also the directors for the purposes of company law) are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.

The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act)) and that an independent examination is required. The charity's gross income exceeded £25,000 and I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a qualified member of FCCA.

Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under Section 43 of the 1993 Act

- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act); and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of the independent examiner's report**

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view ' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements below.

Independent examiner's statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements

- to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records, comply with the accounting requirements of Sections 394 and 395 of the Companies Act 2006 and with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
