The object of the CIO is for the public beiiefit the advaneement of any exclusive charitable puip05es according to the

The Foundation furthers it5 charitable purposes foi. the public benefit through ils grant-making policy. which aims to
alleviate hai'dship in the ¢ominunities in which the Foundation operates. Tlie Foiindatioii conducts various fund-raising
activities Wltl) which to genei'ate income, such a5 sponsojed events and challenges and i'affle5 atjd sales.

The Trustees confinn that they have refeJTed to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance
on public benefit when reviewing the charity aims aiid objective5 and in planning fvture activities and setting the grant

Grant Makiiig Policy
The Chai'ity has ¢stablished its grant making policy (o achieve its objects for the public benefit. Grants would be
consid¢r¢d by the trustee5 to be made in the areas necessary. Grant5 are considered by the trustees on a case by
case basis.
Acliievements and Performaijce
The charity perforined well during the year, with donation income broadly in line with prior year, but in¢ome from
charitable events and activities increasing following the easing of COVID-19 related restrictions. The Foundation
raised £44,743 in total, with events such as the annual Big Idea and Christmas activities continuing to raise significant
amounts. The Summer Social event which was launched in the yeaT was a particular hEghlight, raising over £4,700.

frorn Brabners LLP.
The charity paid out grants of £51,814 in the yeaT. Ten of these gratjts totalling £25,464 wei'e made in September
2021, with the remaining £26,350 awarded to a further 9 charities iji March 2022. The grants were awaiKied to a variety
of charities in line with the objective of the Foundation of alleviatjllg hardship in th¢ communities the Foundation
operates in. Nominations are considered on a case-by-case basis by the charity comniittee and Trustees such that
amounts are awarded to each charity for a spe¢ifIc purpose. The range of initiatives suppoited in the yeai. span
purchasing equipment for activities for thildren with learning difficulties, to promotiiig digital ski115 to young people,
to helping provide support for homelessne55 and providing counselliiig and support to those at risk of suicide.
grants made by Brabners Foundation have ensured that the objectives of tlie charity have been met.
Financial Revieiv
Resources expended exceeded incoming resources in the year by £15,599 (2021.. Net income £10,804). however this
was due to the brought forward retained ￿ndS balance being used to fvnd the first tranche of grants in the year. The
Foundation closed with retained funds of £10,358 at the period end (2021.. £25,957). The Statement of Financial
Activities is set out on page 6. Income is derived from fund-raising event5 and donations. The Trustees believe the
charity has perfonned well in the yeai., with growth achieved in chai'itable activities and total income.
Risk Manageinent
The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that Systems are in place
to mitigate exposure to the major risks.
Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to maintain the level of free reserves at an appropriate level to ensure that th¢ expenditure of the
charity may be covered. Flowever, the level of expenditure the chai'ity 15 exposed to is low and any shortfall in
the level of reserves needed to pay for expenditure as and when it is due will be eovered by Brabners LLP.
Trustees, Responsibilities
The trustees are IEsponsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standard5 (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting
Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for ¢aoh
financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and

I repoit to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Brabners Foundation CIO {'the charity,)
(or the period ended 30 Api'il 2022, which are Set out on pages 6 to 15.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you ai"e responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with
the requii"ements of the Chai'itie5 Act 2011 {'the 2011 Act,).
I IEpoII in respect of Tny exan)ination of the chBrity'5 accounts Ca￿led out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my exainination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Chai'ity Comrnis5ion
undeT section 145 (5)(b} of the 2011 Act.
An independent examsnation does not involve gathering all the evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently doe5 not cover all the tnatteis that an auditor considers in giving their opinion on the accounts. The
planning and conduct of an audit goes beyond the limited aSSUTance that an independent examination can provide.
Consequently, l express no opinion as to whether the accounts present a 'tiue and fair view, and my report 15
limited to those specific rnatters set out in the independent examiner'5 Statement.
Independent examiner's statement

with the examination giving me reasonable Cause to believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act- or

Donated services are included in incoming resources when the benefit to the charity is
reasonably quantifiable and measurable. T]iey are valued by the trustee at the amount the charity
would have been willing to pay foi. the service on the open market.
Expcnditure
Liabilities are recognised as expendittire as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation
cominittii)g the charity to that expeiiditure, it is probable that settlement will be required, and the
amount of the obligation can be measiired reliably. All expenditure is accounted foron an acci'ual's
basis, inclusive of any VAT which cannot be i'ecovered. All expense5 11)cluding suppoit costs and
governan¢¢ costs are allocated or apportioned to the applicable expenditiire headings.

contractual provisions of the instrument and are offs¢l only when the Charity currently has a

basis. or to realise the asset and scttlc th¢ liability simultaneously.

Other debtors which are receivable within one year and which do not constitute a financing

Donations in kind
Brabners LLP donated staff time to help set up and run the adininistration and fiiiance fiinction
of the charity throughout thc year. The amount of this donation in kind cannot be quantified.
Bi'abn¢rs LLP also paid for the independeiit exainination fees for the eharity but cxpected no
payment fiDtn the Charity for these. Detail of this transa¢tion can be seen in note 2 and note 5.

Related Party Transa¢tions
Brabners LLP is a related party ot Brabners Foundation CIO, 2 designated members of
Brabn¢rs LLP are also trustees of the foundation.
Brabners LLP held some income and paid soine expenses on behalf of th¢ Charity in the year.
An amount of £1,390 (2021= £7) was outstanding at the p¢riod end and was included within
debtors and was transfenrd over to the chai'ity bank account aftei. year end.
Donations in kind of £2,500 (2021.. £3,575) for donated s¢rvic¢5 al'e included in incotning
resoui'¢cs. These relate to independent exam fees paid on behalf of the eharity.
Donations of £Nil (2021.. £1,000} were made by the LLP to the charity in the year as a
contribution to Foundation activities and are included in in¢oming resoiirces.

The Brabners Foiindation CIO understands that in order to receive donations from untraced or
doi'mant account client funds the charity must provide Brabners LLP with indemnity that
should tlie entitled legal owners of the money make contact willi the firm or be traced by the
