OBJECTIVES AND AcmvmES
Objectives and aims
. The advancement of the education of public by the provIsK￿ an(J rnalnlenan￿ of a
Museum in or around the lown of Ramsey.
The acquisttion. ￿StOratiOn and exhibition to the ptsb1￿ of rural bygones and items having a
connection wrth the social. domeslrc. cr& Irade. iThJusty. agrirAJliure and rural history (in
Ramsey and the surrounding villages).
Promote research relatrng lo the collecttorts of the and publKation of the
results.

In planniThJ our activities the trustees keep in mirKI the Charity Commission guidance on PLtblic benefit
at our trustse meetings. In v￿￿ of the chartty's obpttives to educate on and proted artefacts relating
to the local agricultural history of a famFing mathet town. The work of the tharity has cyjntinued to
operate in accordan￿ wilh these atrns. seekwig to promoie wblic benefrt thrcwh the chari¥s
activities.

Artefacts are deaned and maintained in the best way F#X￿ble given avaifabilty of space and funds.
Descriptions. stories, and information are presented for the knowledge and education of visitors and
recently films and Short videos have supF4emented this in several areas.
In order to fund this wts￿ a small fee is thaTged for entrance. a tea rcrf)m is proV￿rt and events are
held in the grounds which attract ViVAtors from a large area. both focalty and intemattonajly.
The Museum's volunleers are the essence of the museum as we are entirety run. managed and
governed by volunteers.

FINANCIAL REVIEW AND RESERVES
Investment policy
Monies frK regular expenditure are held in a ¢)Jrrent account with Ihe chafitys bankers.
Th& tharily's excess funds are rotained in an interèsl-bearing fund speufically for charities whi
earns interest each month.

Reserves policy
As a small museum our reseryes ￿lcY is one of safety first. Th8 Injstees aim lo maintain g￿eral
reserves that equate to al least one yearfs operating c#)sts and have successfully done so this year.
Designated reseNes are held for the long-tenn accumulat￿ of ftjnds for larger maintenanc* and
possible contingencies such as roof repairs.
Review
The charity continued to operate at a small surplus wth a majority of its income cmiing from Events,
the Tea Shop and Museum admissions.
Other income is received from rentry (xrt the rry)ms and fi8kls when available as weH as bank interest
however this Income is well below the de minimis limft of 25% of Charitls in￿me.

Govèrning document
The charity is a CIO {Charitable IncJxporaled Organisabon) u)ntrdled by tts Constituti￿ registered on
19th February 2019.
Organisational structure
The charity has a board of trustees comprising srx twstees. The trustees are responsible for the
strategic direction policy of the charity arml have contrd of the charity, its assets and funds.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
New trustees are appointed by the tN)ard the AGM. New twstees wrth diverse and useful skills who
could add value to the govemano of the charity are ¢￿tinualty being sought.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
2023 represents a turn round from the preV￿uS year whth was still very much affected by the
P3ndemtC.
We have been successfijl in attrading some more volunteers. parbcul3rfy on the Front of House side
where dwindling numbers had Ihreatened our ability to open to Ihe public.
The museum slratsgy to 2023 was presented to the volunteers and received great supr)ort, as w8S the
Development Plan. This was also shared with our larKllffll and as a result. we were able to embark on
the stsrt of our lease renegotiabng. We are hO￿f￿1 thal we will be a￿e to achteve a new lease that is
favourable to our strategy and to the charitys specific needs.
We relaunched our scho)Is visit programme vthi¢h started well and ts)Ih gfOUP visils and the use of
the museurwl by other educatk)nal organisations was successful.
We undertook adchlional conservation and mainlenance wort( during ttie year, ￿VieWed a number of
policies and had a busy year renewir¥J and upgrading items such as the CCTV. Hearing Aid loops. and
many financial tools.
During the year we successfvlty ran a number of events ￿lch raised fvnds such that we ended the
yoar wlth a small surplus.

Ireland IFRS 102) issued on 1st January 2019 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the

1. ACCOUNTING POUCIES
Basis of preparatlon of financial statements
Tho financial statemerbls have been prepared under tho h￿oriCal tTht COnventh￿ with items
recognised at o)sl or transaction value unless otherwi%e stated in the rdevant notes to these finan￿al
slatemonls. The rtnancial slalements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of
Recommertded Practice.. Accounting and Reportrng by Charities preparing Iheir accounts in
accor(lance wtth the Financial Rewirtin9 Standard applicable in the United ￿"ngdoM Ènd Republic of
Ireland IFRS 102) issued on 1st January 2019 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the
United Kingdom and Re￿bI￿ of Ireland {FRS 1021 arKJ Ihe Charrbes Act 2011.
Slatemgnt of cash Ilows
The TnJste8s have opted lo take advantage ofthe amendment to Charities SORP FRS 102. where
only larger tharities are required to prepare a Ststement of Cash Flow.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial AttiVIt￿ once the charity ha$ eniTtlement to the
nds. it is probable that the income will be rewved and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expondituro
Liabilib"es are reC￿9￿lsed as expenditure as s(M)n as the￿ is a legal or c￿StruCtiVe oblKJation
comfflitting the charity to that expendihjre, it is probabje that a transfer of economic benefits will be
required in setdemenl and the awnt of the obliga￿n can be measured rel￿bly. ExpeThJilure is
accounted lor on an acuuals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost
related lo the category. Where eA)sts cannot be directy attribuled to particular headings they have
been allocated to activitres on a basis consislent wilh the use ol resources.
Taxation
The charity is exempl from corporation tax on its chafitable activitie5.
Fund accountlng
Unrestricted funds can be used in ac(x)rdan￿ with the charltabte objectives al the discretion ofthe
tswslees.
Reslrteted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes wthin the obj'ects ofthe charity.
Restrictions arise when spgcrfied by the donor ty when funds are raise(I for p8rbcular restn'cted
purposes.

statements.
2. TRUSTEES. REMUNERATION AND BENEFrrs
Thefe were no trustees. remuneration or other beneffts ts the yearerthd 31 December 2023 nor for
the year ended 31 December 2022.

Shop Supplies of £1 T6.40 and other sundries of £337.50 for a totsl of £1,778.35.
steve Watson: Reciprocating saw of£118.99. Signage of £123.65. and vartous r&pairs & sundries of
£111.10 for a total of £353.74. He also Pa￿ for and purchased £100.00 of scaffolding board from the
museum.
