NAYBA TRUSTEES REPORT (INCLUDING DIRECTORS, REPORT) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2021 The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2021. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note I to the financial slalemenls and comply wilh the Nayba charity's CIO Foundation, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reportin¥ Sthndard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (a5 amended for accounting periods commencing from l January 2016) Objectives And actlvities The objeciives of ihe charity are for the public benefit: lo advance educaiion. training and development particularly but not exclusively by providing skills and knowledge to church and community leaders and volunteers lo enable them io better serve their communities. lo promote the e￿l¢lencY and etTecliveness of charitable organisations by= seeking to build the capacity of the chrislian community through the facilitation of collaborative networks, measuring social and economic impaci, promoting best practice and effective use of resources,. and the provision of grdnt funding to facilitate churche5 and charities in effecting community Iransfommlion. The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the Charity should undertake. Achievements and performgnce Financigl review It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained al a level equivalent to between ihree and six monih's expenditure. The Trustees considers that reserves at this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given lo ways in which additional funds may be rdi5ed. This level of reseTves has been maintained throughout the year. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place lo mitigate exposure to the major risks. Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the charity. 1.4 Incoming resources Income is recognised when the charity is legally cntitled to it after any performance conditions have been mel, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received. Cash donations are recogni5ed on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been notified of the donation, unless perfonnance conditions require deferrdl of the amount. Income tax recoverable in Telation to donations reccived under Gift Aid or deeds- of covenant is rccogniscd at the time of the donation.

It is reported in the Statement of Financial Activities as follows.. Direct Charitable Expenditure - these are cosis incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. Support ¢osts include other n]nning costs and governanc¢ costs. These are incurred by the charity and are necessary to aid and support the running of the charity and are included wiihin expenditure on charitable activities. All costs are allocated to charitable activities of the SOFA on a ba515 designed to reflect ihe use of the resource. Support Costs relating to a particular fund are allocated directly. others are apportioned on an appropriate basis when applicable. The charity has ideniified one direct charithble activity. 1.6 Cash And cash equivalents Cash and cash cquivalcnts include cash in hand, dcposiis held ai call wilh banks, other short-tcrni liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less. and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrdfts are shown within borroiyings in current liabilities. .7 Financial instruments The charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section I I 'Basic Financial Instruments, and Section 12 '0ther Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments. Financial instruments are recognised in the charily's balance sheet when the charity becomes party to the ontrdctual provisions of the instrument. Financial assets and liabilities are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when there is a legally enforceable righi io set off ihe recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to realise the asset and settle the liability simulianeously.
