Para 1.17 | For the public beneft, to develop the capacity and skills of members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of exmoor, with particular reference to capacity and skills among young adults under the age of 30: providing opportunities for learning through experience; working to provide opportunities to raise issues and suggest solutions to stakeholders; involving young adults in collaborative efort so that they gain confdence in their own ability and the ability to infuence decisions that afect them. By helping young adults living in or near the rural areas of Exmoor to develop their social and economic potential through participating in a range of educational and recreational activities. By enabling young adults to use their expertise to improve their communities, to share best practice and advise organisations on how young adults can be heard. The promotion for the beneft of the public of rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation (and in particular in Exmoor) by all or any of the following means: (a) the relief of fnancial hardship: (b) the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among young disadvantaged adults, and providing young disadvantaged adults with work experience, including informal training that supports young adults and those who work with young adults to realise their potential and enhance their employability, enterprise, fnancial literacy and life skills. |

1. Recruit 80 volunteer young members, helping young residents and workers to stay on Exmoor, contributing to population balance, environment, and caring 2. Educate 9 public authorities, Consultative Forums, and Parish Councils, about the needs of Exmoor young people re: housing, rents, mortgages, fnance, planning, sites, section 106, digital inclusion, travel costs, wages 3. Partner Exmoor National Park, Somerset West and Taunton Council, Caractacus and other housing authorities 4. Raise funds for educational sessions 5. Communicate regularly across Exmoor National Park and its fringes to reduce rural isolation 6. Inform Housing Associations of the shared housing need 7. Win further Foundation Grants to establish a small loan fund for housing young people 8. Continue negotiations with a loans and grants organisation 9. Maintain the promise of three Exmoor cottages as legacies 10. Support cases for housing young people 11. Plan a follow up Summit of the major authorities to seek promises of how they will prioritise the needs of young people, once C19 restrictions allow for an efective, attended event 12. Maintain pro bono advisory services for self build, fnance, fund raising, housing 13. Create a self build project for young people in housing need 14. Conduct seminars, Members meetings, Parliamentary, ITV, and BBC presentations, as C19 restrictions allow 15. Identify potential self build sites 16. Ensure the Trustees have and understand the Charity Commission Guidance on public beneft 17. Appoint two, new Young Coordinators |

Achievements and Performance

Para 1.20 EYV has been active throughout the C19 crisis as the Young Coordinators, Members, Trustees, and Advisors have been keeping our 497 followers in touch with regular information about: • housing opportunities, • job vacancies, • business grants, • business openings, • accessing services, • National Park information, • support groups during and after the crisis, • volunteering opportunities, • caring for the vulnerable, • schooling and at home assistance, • activities for younger children, • support to young parents, • finance support, • EYV’s Facebook and website, including the most recent ITV interviews. EYV’s immediate C19 recovery schedule includes: 1. A Zoom AGM of the Trustees 2. An Executive Meeting: ‘distanced' on Exmoor, in the open 3. An EYV Committee and Members Open Meeting, either Zoom or at our sponsors, The Rest and Be Thankful, Wheddon Cross, if safe and appropriate 4. Annual Report and Accounts to the Charity Commission 5. Completing the Cosmic Enterprise training Priority work, Summer and Autumn, included: • Wessex Resolutions project - plan for grants and loans to young residents • Plan Summit - the follow-up seminar for Exmoor Partners’ Promises of Change to enable young adults to continue living and working in the National Park • West Somerset Opportunity Area: developing focus groups for 11 to 25- year-olds. • Keeping up with the information flow, across Exmoor, to young people, authorities and voluntary organisations about opportunities and changes. • Funding the next three years’ development. • Publishing EYV’s Digital Inclusion Survey results, liaising with Selaine Saxby, North Devon MP • Council for the Preservation of Rural England Priorities for information and updates: • Exmoor National Park; • Wessex Resolutions; • Community Development Foundation; • West Somerset Opportunity Area; • Somerset and Devon County Councils; ~~S~~ ~~t W t~~ ~~d T~~ ~~t~~ ~~d N~~ ~~th~~ |
