Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

We had our grand opening in May 2022, for which the site was enhanced with new raised bed and wildlife signs created by children’s book illustrator, Alison Limentani, as well as the required Health and Safety signs. Approximately 50 people attended, predominantly children with learning difficulties and their families, who enjoyed meeting the Shetland Sheep and Boer Goats, eating homemade cakes, as well as pond dipping and experiencing the scents and textures of the plants in our newly created sensory raised beds. Through the rest of the year, we conducted regular therapeutic visits with a number of adults and children with leaning disabilities, as well as groups such as Red Balloon, Haddenham Beavers and Rainbow Unit. We expanded our volunteer base and formalised inductions, with volunteer packs and contracts, and have become formally accredited as a care farm by Social Farms & Gardens.

To support our wildlife, we constructed a 3-pond system to provide additional habitat for our great crested newts with funding from Natural England. Support from RSPB Operation Turtle Dove continued, with seed and advice, as well as analysis of photographs from our trail cam, which showed that our doves bred three young this summer. We also enhanced the orchard with 6 additional fruit trees.
