TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30/6/22

Our Only World first started their activities in July 2018. We became a Registered Charity in February 2019. Registered No. 1182056.

Our main aim is to promote marine conservation, specifically reducing marine plastic pollution. We have four projects underway:

• Our song project suffered from the COVID-19 lockdown as it involves primary school children, singing and dancing together. This year we completed the video and song in Guernsey. We intend to launch this project in the near future.

• Our water refill station has advanced, and we are now manufacturing and fulfilling our Cornwall Council agreement. We have worked with local designers, plumbing, roto moulders and steel engineering companies. The outer case of the unit is made from recycled fishing nets collected from local beaches.

• Our third project is siting tiles on Harbour walls. This has been inspired by Living Sea Walls Australia. The main aim of this project is to increase marine biodiversity.

• Our fourth project is the launch of a children’s book, which is to educate on the issue of plastic pollution. The unique selling point is ‘it is written by children for children’

• Our overheads are minimal. Insurance is our major expense.

• Next year we hope that we will be able to fund marine conservation projects.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE 12 MONTHS TO 30/6/22

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS

These accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis.

1. We have had funds donated to site Harbour walls at three sites in Cornwall.

2. Funds for the research and development of our water refill station.

3. This is a donation from Guernsey for our song and video project

4. Unrestricted donations have been received from Lara Vafiadis https://www.thisgirlrows.com/ , and other local supporters.

5. This is the cost of 30 sea tiles paid in advance.

6. This represents our rotomoulding cost, water regulation costs, prototype costs, legal and design costs.

7. These are expenses relating to our final filming and recording in Guernsey.

8. This is the cost of printing the children’s book. The charity launched the book in June 2022. Sales income will be shown in the following period.

9. The charity is having a new website made partly funded by a donation. This will reflect that the charity has now all four projects coming together.
