whole.|Para 1.20|In 2023 we presented a mini–Winter Festival
of string quartets at the United Reformed
Church, as well as a fundraising concert in
London. The Spring festival focussed on the
Belgian violinist Eugene Ysaye with 10
events in Romsey performed by high calibre
artists from around the world. Highlights of
the festival included performances of
Brahms Piano Quintet, Faure Second Piano
Quartet, Elgar Piano Quintet, a visiting wind
quintet, a family concert and an open
masterclass. We received highly positive
critical reviews and audience numbers
continued to grow.
This year as always our education work was
a primary focus. We put on 10 schools
concerts and workshops, a masterclass and
worked with Hampshire County Youth
Orchestra for a day. Our family concert
during the festival is pay-as-you-wish, to
help with first access to live performances
and our first concert in Romsey Abbey was
