Activltles
ThÈ Vaglna Museum operated its first full year wlthin 275-276 Poyser Street In Bethnal Green ITowÈr Hamletsl, for the period
covered by thls report. The premlses Is located withln two railway arthes and features hl8h ceilings with a me223nine level on
both halves. One section of the bulldlne houses exhibitions and include5 an elevator, whlle the other section is dedicated to a
staff area and event Space. Our events space measures 58.3 square metres, and has czp3Clty for 60 seated or 80 standing.
During thls perlod, the Vagina Museum faced financial dlfficultle5 a5 temporary cashflow Issues led to nearly reaching our
reserves limit. As 3 result, th15 necessitated the launch of an emergency lundrai5ing c3rnpalgn In March 2025. This campaign
exteeded expectatlons, reaching Its goal of É60,000 Indlvldual glvlng wlthin 48 hours of 80ing Ilve. In parèllel, the museum
negotlated a monthly rent payment plan with the landlord5, in order to pay our rent in full in more man3Eeable, 5rnaller,
regular amounts rather than quarterly large sums. Together, these measure5 5tabilised cashflow and ensured that the Museum
wa5 able to rem35n open.
Since then. the museum h35 continued to widen its delivery of in-person act1￿tiÈ$, events and pop-ups undertaken i
p8rtnÈrship with other charities and tommunlty groups. Activities in thls period have included a variÈty of panel talks,
workshops, book tlubs and social and craft-ba5ed events that have been prlmarlly rooted In community focused. soclal
programmlng. In April 2025, the Vagina Museum launched a new qoarterly community-led zine. Lip Service where all
¢ontributlons come from the museum's tommunity. It has 81so continued to foster new forms af community building within
the local area. act￿lY participating in Tower Harnlet5 Councll's workshops, stalls at St Margarets House and volunteer fairs.
Accordine to the museum's visltor feedback, 75.6% of visitors identlfy as Whlte lincludlng Whlt& Brltish, Irish, Roma, TTaveller
and any other White backgroundl. 78.1% ol our audience Identlfy as Women. 64% of visitcrs IdentSfy as LGBTQl+. 28.6%
identlfy a5 di58bled and 57.7% Identify as neurodlvergent, The 20-24 age group was the Museums, hl8hest representation at
24.6%, followed by 25-30 at 21.7%. Thls Indicates that the majority of visitors are in their 205, wllh the 20-24 a8e range as the
leadlng demographlc. The third-hi8he5t dernographic15 Ihe 35-39 è8e group. which repre5erit5 10.5% of the total responses.
93.4% of visitors stated that this was their first time visitlng the museum.

Lucy's Gallery-
Museum OJ Monkind was the hAuseum's second temporary exhibition. This parody exhibition Iset In Aprll 402LII highlights
misogyny and tsppression In h15tory. heritage and the museum industry. This exhibition was Inspired by thp Museum of Di55ent
who are a collectlve that emplores the possible nature of institutional diss@nt through InteTactive exhibitions and event5. The
exhlbStion centres around the Drag King, Guy Manson, who discovered a collection of ancient objects while gardening. This
unexpected find prompted 2n archaeolo8lcèl diE to uricover the origin5 of these objects and their historlcal uses. This
exhlbltion was Instslled in April 2024 and concluded In February 2025.
Menopouse Whats Chcinged? was the Museum's third tetnporary exhibition. Thi5 exhibition explores menopause in historv.
tracine the journey from the mlllennSa of silence through to the boom in a lucrative industry. Through u5Ing playful and
particlpatory methods, th15 eKhlbition look5 at the burgeoning cultural scene which is finally startlng to thrive. This exhibition
s supported by the University ol Sussex, the University of West of England and more than 4(K) Crowdfunder donors. This
eKhibition was Installed in March 2025. and Is projected to contlude In spring 2026.

Fmm A to V is the Museum's pÈrm8nent d15p13y. It covers actlVi5m, anatomy. health. institutional rècism and vulva diversity.
The Vagina Museum created thi5 exhlbltlon in re5pon5e to feedback and consultation wlth the member5hlp base Èo identify
what Information they wanted to have on display and shared with the public. In June 2025, From A to V underwent 8 revBmp.
Thi5 included more accessible interactive deslgn feaiures, an expanded vulva dlversity wall- showing different anglÈs of the
vulva-and the Instsllatlon of a preserved human uterus, ovarle5 and uterlne tubes. dlsplayed In a perspex box.
Anarrha's Gallery-
The Communlty fjallery Serves a5 a dedicated space within the museum where Indivlduals, art15t5, or groups can present
exhibitlon5 that highlight broader dixourses and Iwed experientes. In 2024-2025, the museum received funding from Arts
Counci5 England to develop three exhibitions., Ode to Gy{nlu, a mural installation co-crezted with Skaped, an East Londtsn
artlvlst charlty,. Trans Ephemero. a mlxed medla exhlbltlon created by elght trans artists and Before the 81ood. a photography
and letter exhibition co-created with Nisaba, 3 period justlce charity for migrant women, Both Ode to Gy(nla and frGns
Epherner<T were delivered within the period covered by this report and are detailed below. Before the Blood was developed
outside the reporting period and therefore not Included in the following Section.
The second exhlbStlon featured In ihe Community Gallery was Know Your Body Llke Nobody E15e.' Cervicol Screening
Redesigned by Ella Cl3ncy. The work examines the realtrties Df gynaecological health, with a particular focus on cervicèl
5creenlng, Clancy's work aims to challenee the embarrassment that Indlvlduals Wlth cervixe5 often experience when attendlng
their screenln& using soft, welcomln8, and supportive interventions. The installation fosters well-lnformed and open
conversations b2bi4een friend5, patients, and healthcare professionals. This exhlbltlon was Installed In late June 2024 and
concluded Sn December 2024.
Ode to Sylnjo is the museum's third tommunity exhlbltion, and w35 funded by Arts Council England. In tollaboration with
5kaped
an artlv15t charlty thai work5 wlth young people in East London to Èducate them about tommunity bullding and
human rSghts- this exhibition trlebrates bodlly autonomy, collectlve empowerment, and the liberation work yet to be done.
The rnural lor the exhibition was created by a diverse group of Yo￿n¥ creatives, and 15 an arnalgamation of what each of the
participants brought to the space when asked to facu5 on bodily autonomy and liberation. The work produced was Insplred bv
the beauty in sElf-possesslon, In the profound right of indiwduals to make decisions about thelr own bodie5, and in the
reslllence of human spirit that transcend5 external constraints. The exhibition soueht to honour past generations of women
(mother5 of gynaecology, Gaia, Mother nature) who created space for the nÈxt gÈneratlon of women to finally be free within
thelr bodles. This exhlbltlon was installed In December 2024. and concluded In Aprll 2025.

crèated In collaboration with individua15 who identify a5 trans and explore5 the disposability of items surrounding transition
and trans life. such as medication packets. Eender aflirminE product material. admlni5tratlve paperwork, and so on. This mixed
media inslallation explored the journeys of trans communities. running from April 2025 through to July 2025.
The Vagina Museum held 86 events at Poyser Street in the period covered hy thi5 report. EverTt5 conslsted of a mix of
performance, tslk5/lecture prDgrammes, 50clal events, book clubs, workshops and craftin8 activities, delivered mostly In-
person with some online. Of the 86 events, 77 We￿ held on site. 9 online, 5 wÈre exclusive to members and 14 were private

Volunteers:
During this reporting period, volunteer numbers became mare stable follovAng the introduction of new policles and the
annual GDPR cornpliance revlew. Following the GDPR compliance checks conducted in June 2024, 56 volunteer5 were removed
from our record5 las stated in the prevlous report).
A recruitment drive was carried out in Au8U5t 2024, re5ultlng In 35 new volunteers joinln8 the museum. Thls led to an average
of 48 active volunteers on our records duringthis period.
The next recrultment drive took place In August 2025. Due to Improved volunteer retentlon, On￿ 11 new Voluntee￿ were
required.

In the period covered, the Vagina Museum held an emergency crowdfunder to Stop from Closlng. Thls campaign exceeded
expectstlons. reachlng Its goal of £60,000 In indivldu31 givlng wlrhln 48 hours of 8olng live. This c31npaign 15 onBoln8. wlth
additlon31 match fundlng from a charitable foundation to be reparted In the n2xt annual report. To date. the fundraiser has
raised £86.637, Irorn appruximately of 2,600 donors.
The Vagina Museum's membership scheme Is prlced at £50 a year. Dr £6 a mtrnth. Members recelve 3 discount on events and
in the gift shop* excluslve members, events and frequent communication5 from the team. With the launch of Lip Service,
members also receive a free digital download of the zine as an additional mernber5hip perk. WhllÈ the cost of living crisis
contlnues to Impact members, resultinE in the cancellatlon of some memberships. the total nurnber of new tnembershlps at
the end of the perlod covered by the report was 61. The total number of rnembers at the end of the period covered by thls
report was 349.

The V38lnè Museum trustees decided to hold reserves at É35.000 which equates to 2 months expendlture. These reserves
would be used if there wès not enough income to cover Èssentl31 overheads including stafflng* rent, tsxes and bllls. The
trustees considerthat thls policy remalns sufficient to the need5 01 the charlty.
At the ypÈr end, the charity held unrestricted reserves lexcludlng fixed assets) of £111,43612024.. E79,0221, whlch is above
the reserves pollty and amounts to 6 months operatin8 expenses.
Plans foT future periods
From July 2025, further development was carrled out to strengthen engagement with underserved comMunI￿e5. The museum
delivered programtnlng as pèrt of South Asian Heritage Month and Bl3tk History Month as a step towards rn0￿ inclu5Ive
representation, which wlll be report@d in the 2025-26 annual report. However. further work Is needed to ensure equitable
eneagement across all areas ol the museum's work.

The financial Statements have been preparefl in accordance with the charity's governing document, the Charlties Act
2011, FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republlt of Ireland" and the Charitie5 SORP
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Retommended Practice applicable to charltie5 preparinE their
accounts In accordance with the Financial Reporting Stand3rd applicable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland IFR5 1021"
The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage ol the provlslons In the SORP forcharities not to prepare a statement of cash flows.
The flnanclal 5tatement5 have departed from the Charitie5 (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 Only to the extenr
required to provide a true and fair view. This depaiture has involved following the Statement of RecommÈndÈd Pr3CtSce
lor charities applyin8 FRS 102 rather thèn the verslon of the Statement of Recommtrnded PractSce which is felerred to in
the Regulations but which has slnce been wlthdrawn.
The financlal statèments are p￿pared in sterlSn& which Is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in
these linanclal 5tstefflents are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial 5taternent5 have been prepared under the historical cost conventlon. Ihe prlntlpal actountlng polltles
adopted are set out below.
1.2 Golng concern
At thÈ tirne of appro¥Ang the financlal statement5, the trustees have a reasonable eKpectation that the tharlty has
adequate resources to continue In operètional existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees tontlnue to adopt
the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 CharltablÈ funds
Unrestrlcted funds are avallable for use at the dlscrÈtlon of the trustees In furthÈran¢e of thelr charitable oblectlves.
RestrScted fund5 are subject to specific £ondition5 by donor5 or grantors a5 to how they may be used. The purposes and

1.4 Income
Income 15 recogni5ed when the charity is le8ally entitled to it alter any performance condltlons have been met, the
amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be recelved.
Cash donatlons are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charlty has been notlfied of the
don3tlon, unless performance condIt￿on5 requlre deferral of the amount. Income tax retaverable In relatlon to
donattons received under Gift Ald or deeds of covenant Is recosnlsed at thÉ tlmÈ of the donation.
