## **Caistor and District Lions Club (CIO**

Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2022

The club is a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs established as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on the 8[th of] February 2019.

The Club’s objectives are the advancement of citizenship and promoting volunteering, promoting the voluntary sector for the benefit of associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education and providing the facilities in the interest of social welfare.

Throughout, the year the Club have used the monies made from fundraising events and donations received to provide the funds with which to conduct its objectives. All the Club’s administrative expenses are financed from the subscriptions paid by the members and social events. Volunteers entirely conduct the work of the CIO.

From time to time as appropriate, the Club works closely with other local and national organisations and Lions Clubs and with Lions Clubs International to achieve its objectives.

The CIO is governed by its Constitution and by the Constitution and By-Laws of Lions Clubs International as revised from time to time.

The Trustees are appointed from time to time as appropriate by the members of the Club and have responsibility to ensure that the Club operates in accordance with Charity law and the Club’s Constitution.

The Club is supported by the volunteer’s services of its members and others.

Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which show a true view of the state of affairs of the charity and its financial activities for that period.

In preparing the financial statements the Trustees are required to:

- Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them

- Make sound judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

- State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements: and

- Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time.

The accounts cover the successful events of 2021 of Caistor Goes, Bike Night, Bonfire Night, Victorian Craft Market and Santa Sleigh. The Lions also set themselves individual challenges in August 2021 and raised £1,080.00. With a very successful Beer Festival, St Georges Night and donations received, the total income for the Club was £36,448.89.
