young people and for coaches and teachers who organis¢ or supervise the playing of cricket or other games
at such clubs, associations sch￿1$, Univ￿S111¢S or other educational establishments;

and maintenance of playÈng fields or appropriate indoor facilities: whether vested in the trusfres or noL to

(2) The assistance ill or provision of facilities for recreation or other leisur¢ time owtion in the interests of social
welfare, either for the benefit of the genernl public of Yorkshire or for the bencfit of those who by reason of their

with the object of improving their condttion of life.

The trustees have pleasure ID presenting their repK)rt for the year ended 31 D￿nter 2023.
On 6 December 2018, the Trustees approved the establishment ofthe Yorkskn County Cricket Club Charitable
Youth Trust CIO (the-CIO"). On 31 January 2019 the CIO was approved by The Charity Commission and the
funds from the previous In￿ were transfetred to th¢ CIO.
Included within thos¢ fimds was an amoullt of £50, king the original restricted fund set up as The Sir Imnard
Hutton Foundation. The baIance of funds transferred to the CIO is u[￿e51￿cted and may k used to fisrther the
objects of ttLe CIO. These are refffred to as the T￿lleral Fund-.
ChaTitalAe Ydctivitifs in 2023
The CIO is a charity which aims to enable morc young people to play cricket and other SE￿ in Yorkshi￿.
We work with partncr5 to finance the progrdmmes which benefit childrffj including The Yorkshire Cricket
Foundation vkno deliver-Enjoy Crickeff. 'Popup Crick¢t-. and-Beach Cricket,
In 2023, we were ple&sed to suptK)rt an expansion of Enjoy Cricket and Pop-up Cricket and suptx)rted the deliven,
of these to over 10,000 young people at 74 centr¢s across the county. giving over 1.000 hours of crickcting fun to
¢hildTen in a safe environment.
We also helped wtth fi￿ding forthe establishment of the Ryedale Women's Softball I￿gue and are the lead funder
of a project in Scarborough to greatly expand the participation ofyoung people in cricket in the town and
surrounding area8.
Additional support was given to give buT5aries for enthusiasts to learn to coach cricket to young people and helping
clubs remove a barrier to ellable them to supp)rt jullior crickel providing youngslers support for years to come.
The CIO'S income is principally from a trfolio of investments aIthough donations and bequests are welcomed. As
in previous years. the level of clwitabEe expenditw¢ has ¢xc¢eded investment income.
Genernl Fund
In 2023 charitsble expenditure was £80,765 (2022 £52,602k and wÈth small increases in the values of the charity's
invesknents, the Fund showed an overall deficit for the year of £18,1 $8 (2022 deficit of £284,030) and a balan¢c at
31 December 2023 of £1,191.647 (202? £1209,835). The trystees are grateful for donations received, particularly
from certain long-standing supwrter5.
Investments
Trading resulted in a realised loss of £7.633 (2022 - loss of £17560). UnTealised gains in the year wete £22.332
(2022 - losses of £261,639) and th¢ value of the investments at 31 December 2023 w&5 £1.153.282 (2022
£1.165.738).
