## **Objectives and Activities** 

The Trust supports care-experienced young adults in Portsmouth as they transition into independent living. It provides small grants, wellbeing support, and opportunities that promote stability, confidence, and positive life outcomes. 

During 2023–2024, the Trust continued to offer financial assistance for essential items, emergency needs, and activities that help care leavers build independence. Demand for support remained high due to ongoing cost-of-living pressures. 

## **Public Benefit Statement** 

The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. All activities undertaken during the year were directed toward supporting care-experienced young people. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

The Trust continued to distribute grants and provide practical support to care leavers. Restricted funds were used for direct support, while unrestricted income covered organisational and publicity costs. The Trust maintained strong engagement with local partners and continued to respond flexibly to the needs of young people.

- **Income:** £5,250 

- **Expenditure:** £6,480 

- **Net deficit:** £1,230 

The Trust began the year with **£3,630** carried forward from 2022–2023. After accounting for the deficit, the closing balance at 31 March 2024 is: 

## **£3,630 – £1,230 = £2,400** 

The Trust remains financially viable and able to continue supporting care leavers.
