Lymm Sanctuary Hub ILSH), bawj in the Lymm Ubrary Annexe, provides a range of community
sèrvic8s to lo￿1 péople, ineludirwJ those with speu31 needs. thè young. elderty and vulnerable. Our
charitable ¢*>jecls 8re lo prorrK)le any Charitabte purpose lor the bènefil of the ￿)mMunitY as thè trustees
see fit in p8￿CUlar but not exdusively by the following means:
To pmvide infom)ation and advi￿ to peopte in need. especially the elderty. through a dro
in centre and workshops, designed lo ￿ver 8118re85 of need that they may fa￿.
To provide an affordable counselling seryic* for those with mental health and relational

village and those withoul local family support. and to those who find themselves isolated

LSH has two opor8ting subs*Ykgries:
Lymm Business Cenlre Ltd IR8g. No. 114808521 provides affordable office space and hot-
daskin9, evenvmeeling rcK)m space orHJ buwness supwrt s8Nicas from its base on first
floor ol the Lymm Library Annexe.
Sanctuary Café Lymm CIC (Reg. No. 118614821 is an ecumenical. communily-based
inili8live, supported by the thurches in Ihe Lymm area. whith provides high quality food.
drinks arKI cakes at reasonable prices and also selling books, cards and gifts. It is based in
thè Lymm Unil&J Reformed Church hall adjacent to the Lymm Library.
2. A¢hi¥¥ements and Perforniance In 2020
Our activities during 2020 were severely re5titled as a resuli of the Cowd-19 pandemi& The Library
was closed at the end ol March and we i￿k ihe deasicft to dose Ihe Hub and Business cent￿ at the
same lime. In keeping with Govemment and Local Authorily requifements for operating during the
pandemie, we rÈKopened the eommunilylevent room and Lymm Business Centr8 in July to a limited
number of business and authorised ¢XJmmunity adivities. This involved undertaking a detailed risk
assessment and inlrcmlucing a wde range of measures to meet Cowd-19 Guidelines for the safe
oparatlon of communty fa￿￿tieS and officeslcontact centres.
During the pandemic, we c￿tinUed to deliver some of communty actiw￿s remotely. For example,
the affordable counselling 5ervKewas delivered on4ine and the Memory Café attendees were contacted
by telephone. email and postand sessions We￿ organised in the Sancluary C8Té when restrictions were
lift8d.
LSH also helped the Leave Nmne Behind in Lymm (LNOBIL) m8als campaign by providing
administration support. Spa￿ for storing the meals and twj boxes and fund raI￿n9. This h8s induded
setting-up donation pages on the Just Giwng platform and managing the financTral

contributions. LSH has also supwled Ihe ￿Illary Calé vth its VE Day Cream Tea initiative which
has raised over £3.000 for the Warrington and Halton Hosprtds, Charity.
Catering services for Ihe Hub were prov¥Jed by the SanclLFary Café Lymm which is a subsidiary of LSH
and is Ic￿ted in the Unit8d Reformwl Church hall next dcor to the Library building.
A r8ng8 of m8r*èb"ng activities were carried out during the year lo raise awareness of LSH and our
community programmes. Thi5 included settinwp the LSH websile. promobng the Hub via soctal media.
advertisements and press releases in the k*al medkg.
During the year, LSH r8ceived B ￿98¢Y donation of £12,000 for dèlivering our ¢c*mmunity and business
support projects, some Dr which has been tlsed to uwJrade office and data management systems and
for the delivery of pa￿nI81 and carer sUPPOrt semces. In addit*)n, we We￿ successful in securir￿ a
£9.060 grant from the COronavin￿ Communrty Support Fund tocover some of our oper8ting costs whilst
the Hub and Business Centre Wfj￿ closed or only partially open due to the pandemi¢.
Establishing and opernting LSH has onty bè8n possible thr￿gh the substantial contribution oflime and
eX￿rtiSe from OLtr volunteers and professional 8dvisots who donated th￿r tim8 frÈe-of<harge during
the year. This tr)tslled 1,316 houts in 2020.
3. Flnanc5al Rwièw for 2020
The lolal incom8 lor the year was £56.434 which was comprised malnly of9eneral grants & donations.

The overall surplus fty the year was £21,483.
Th8 Trustaas (x)nstder, in thè unusual circumsiances of Cwd-19, that cx)nsolidated reserves sufficient
to cover OLtr activities fly 6 M(￿th5 are required to mainlain tha Charitys future.
4. Activltlès In 2021 and Future Plans
During 2021, we have gradually r9-0pan￿ the ￿mr￿TrIty spxe and conlinued to run some of our
community programmes in the Hub taking aC(￿unt of Cowd-19 restriclions arKI risk ass&ssmènls.
The counselling team ￿)n￿sts of a manager. a supervisor. 2 qualified counsellois 8nd iwo trainees. 11
has helped 74 clienis sinc8 it slarted and people gÈnuinety feel very gfatelul for the 3fftJrdable sessions.
One couple said that the 5 sessions had saved their rnarTiage and their family. The cx)unsÈlling sessions
have mainly continued on Zoom and all the o)unselling team have completed training to work
therapetstically online. Some dients have asked to be seen f￿&￿￿f￿cÈ 8rwJ the sessions are being held
in the Hub when sutloble i¥ available.
The Memory Café has ¢ontinuwJ to operate suLxessfully through)ut this ￿ar. Duè to inueasing
numbers and Covid Spa￿ restn"ctions, rt has moved to holding iwo sessions 8 M¢￿th in Ihe United
Reformed Church. Act]￿tieS indudad quiues. seated exercAses, themed sessions and so¢i81
aftemoons with rgfreshments. Averagè attendan￿ E 18 10 23 per session comprising those suffering
from memw k)ss. their carersifamily members and voluntee￿.

focus is now on delivering frozen meals which are provided by the Sanctuary Café. A'legacy,
programme is baing considered to continue lo provide meals for those most in need.
Wè secured a grant of £9,980 fn)m the Cheshire Community Foundation èarti8r this year for our IT4AJI
projèct which is the first phase of a programme to help isolated. elderly péople who live in the Lymm
and the surrounding area. especialty those who are not currently laking part in online activitl8s or able
to access available online sèrvices. Wa have Tecruited a e4)-ortlinalor lo deliver this projec( Neil
McKay. with support from a steering group 8nd volunteers. Work has been underlaken 104Iate on
raising awareness of the project running a sèries of intmductcryl L%ter Se￿On5.
On Ihe staffing front, we have recentty recruited an apprentice. Sanah Bukhari. who is being funded
foi 6 months under the DWP'S Kickstsrt Programme to proV￿e admintstrab'on support to the Hub and
Business Centre induding W0￿•ng on soTh our ct*nmunty programmes.
An important activty has been lo finalise and adopt of a range ol WI￿19$ covering bullying &
harassmant, confidentiality. data Pff)lection. discipline, drugs & alcohd, environmentsl managemant,
grievance, health & safaty. risk martagemenL Saf￿jUarding. security aThJ volunteers.
Next year the Hub will be hosting a series of dropin $ass￿n$ to provhje Infom)8lion ond advtce lo
residents to address the elimale change d)allenge and lo help them to reduce their carknn lootprints.
They will be carrted oirt under the bannor of LEAF whth És a new umbrella organisalion ￿p￿senting
wide range ol local environmental groups. Topics will irKaude energy. wastè, fc￿1, Iransport and the
natural environment.
Our future plans include enharKing our community programmes aim8d al helping the more vulnerable
memb&rs of the local comrnunily. We have r￿entlY secjjred a grant from the Awards for All
programme 01 £9,984 to ujntributa iowards thè eosls ol employiro a Community Programme and
Volunteer C¢>ordinalor to spearhead woth arKI are in Ihe Process of recrulting a suitable
