Cylch Meithrin Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant Charity No 1184799
Trustees Report for year ending 31[st] March 2021
We present our annual report and accounts for the year ended 05/04/2021 to comply with requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
OUR AIMS
The aim of Cylch Meithrin is to offer early years education for pre-school children from the ages of 2-5, in a bilingual setting. We encourage the use of the Welsh medium through play, language, music and literacy.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The Cylch’s objective is to provide children with experiences that help develop their imagination, awareness and understanding of themselves, others, their locality and wider world. Cylch encourages children to grow their language and communication, personal and social development, creativeness, mathematical development, understanding of the greater world and their physical development. Cylch uses a variety of aids to obtain these objectives; role-play, craft, walks, bikes, blocks, sensory items, books, music.
Cylch provides children with ever changing activities (half termly change of theme) to promote learning, understanding, compassion and growth.
FUTURE PLANS
Cylch have been lucky enough to have received considerable funds from the Welsh Government over the past year and we have invested heavily in outdoor learning/play. We have also been gifted Forest School training from Mudiad and so our plans are to build on these positives by developing our outdoor area alongside the school. We are also developing a better library and intend to send books home with children to encourage this skill.
FINANCE SUMMARY
During 2020-21 cylch finished the academic year with 14 pupils attending, 6 of these accessed the new Childcare for Wales hours. The local authority funding was £9718, with extra funds coming from Childcare For Wales hours, £4080. Cylch received various grants totalling nearly £4840 and with donations, uniform sales, fees from 2yr olds and fundraising the total income for the year was £28535. Total outgoings were £30220, which gave a small deficit; whilst paying 100% wages throughout Covid-19 pandemic we are comfortable with the loss. The bank showed £5500 at the year end.
During the next year, Cylch hopes to carry on gaining children for the Childcare For Wales hours, which encourages children to stay within Llanrhaeadr YM for schooling, and gives Cylch a positive role within the community. Cylch hopes to carry on doing fun events for fundraising and awareness. The 3-year financial plan is looking very steady.

Cylch has 5 trustees; Joanne Williams, who is also Responsible Individual Manon Watkins Emma Buckley Ceri Jones Lisa Lewis Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have been unable to convene a meeting to update our Trustees.
