President’s Report 2022-2023
We continue to run the two Med Chi’s in Parallel with the same officers to maintain the old bank account whilst the membership subscriptions are being sorted. The Charity Commission has recognized the continuation of the old charity to enable the legacy account to continue.
We have continued to have a series of lectures for members and anyone interested usually held at Nuffield Hospital, and we are grateful for their support.

During the year many of the subscriptions being paid into the old Med Chi have now been transferred to the new.
The secretary is now employed by the CIO. We have not claimed Grant aid for this year but intend to do so.
At present most in-person events occur at the Nuffield who generously provide the rooms gratis. They can charge for the food but have chosen not to invoice us for the last year – otherwise potentially a debt of £1500.
This year the committee decided to invest in a laptop and associated software for the Secretary and audio-visual equipment to enable the talks to be live-streamed.
The accounts for both the old Med Chi and CIO have been scrutinised for accuracy by a person not involved in handling the money.
