## **President’s Report 2021-2022** 

We continue to run the two Med Chi’s in Parallel with some shared trustees to maintain the old bank account whilst the membership subscriptions are being sorted. The Charity Commission has recognised the continuation of the old charity to enable the legacy account to continue. All the old med chi is doing now is to take in old subscriptions and pass them over to the new Med Chi. We expect these to dwindle further over the next few years - this year they were under £1500. 

This year saw a continuation of a lecture programme and we were able to continue the programme despite the effects of COVID. We indeed had 12 meetings with one special online meeting on COVID and an and of year meeting in September by Prof David Nutt.  I thank all our speakers for a sterling year of talks. 

The trustees decided to look for a new venue for the meetings due to the high costs of using Engineers House.  Though David Cahill we were able to negotiate obtaining rooms through the University at Clifton House but the parking restrictions and catering requirements made us explore further and we are grateful that the Nuffield Hospital has provided us these rooms free for our meetings. We moved into the Nuffield for the March 2022 meetings.  We are still working out some issues such as catering and numbers. 

We have since COVID also been recording the meetings for later viewing and either had online or hybrid meetings.  It unfortunately took us a few months to get settled into the Nuffield System but now hope to have continuing online live streaming of our meetings as well as web recordings for later viewing. 

We are now planning how to celebrate the 150th session of the society in 2024- 2025.

During the year many of the subscriptions being paid into the old Med Chi have now been transferred to the new. 

The accounts for both the old Med Chi and CIO have been scrutinised for accuracy by a person not involved in handling the money.

At present whilst some subscriptions are still being paid to the old bank account and the charity is being maintained and has to keep separate accounts. 

As we have yet to move the employment of the Secretary to the CIO she continues to be paid by the Old Charity – this is happening for 30 Aug 2022.
