**Lionistic Year 2020-2021**
**Donations:**
During 2020/2021 our activities have been
limited by the Covid 19 Pandemic but
Stafford Lions Club has financially
supported Stafford Women’s Aid by
donating10 complete sets of bedding
costing £240. We also supported the
Youth Trust Appeal £100, sponsored a
Stafford Rangers player £180, the Royal
British Legion £50, Buddy Bags £200 and
also provided E45 cream for staff at
Stafford County Hospital £99.50 (+£100
from Asda). Further donations were made
to the ‘Make Some Noise’ charity £200, St.
Paul’s Church Youth projects £200 and
£200 for ‘A Child of Mine’ charity. We are
also a’ dementia friendly’ organisation.
In Addition to this we supported small
number of care leavers.
Internationally we donated £150 to the
Lebanon Appeal and additionally donated
£250 to Lions Clubs International Disaster
Fund.
**Service Projects:**
Ongoing projects include recycling
spectacles and hearing aids. We supply
‘Message in a Bottle’ equipment,
‘Plugsters’ for arthritis sufferers, and
‘Aspods’to carry dispersible aspirin.| In January 2021 we began supporting the Stafford North End Community Vaccination Centre and between January 2021 and June 2021 we provided 1765 hours of voluntary service enabling more than 28.000 vaccinations. Members marshal cars in the car park whilst other members volunteer inside the building welcoming, documenting and directing the public who attend for their covid vaccinations and will also help with the influenza vaccine program in the autumn. We also organise a few litter pick sessions within our area. **Fundraising:** Our normal fundraising in November and December was totally disrupted by the Corona Epidemic. Normally fundraising mainly takes place in November and the festive season when we do bucket collections accompanied by Santa Elves and a Lion in supermarkets and shopping areas in Stafford and Penkridge. We also raise money through delivering a local directory on a monthly basis. **Food:** We hold annual food collections in January and July.
