Governance and management
Broadstairs Surf Life Saving Club is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
registered on 28 January 2019. The club has trustees who are normally appointed at
annual general meetings. One-third of the charity trustees retire from office at each
annual general meeting with the vacancies so arising filled by the decision of the
members. Proceedings of the club are managed by a committee with the committee
roles also being elected at the annual general meeting. The club has a constitution
which was agreed on 25 January 2019.
Aims and objectives.
To promote water safety and teach lifesaving skills.
Summary of the main achievements during the period
The Broadstairs Surf Life Saving Club has continued to offer regular beach and
water-based training to members during this year and also to offer recognised
lifeguard courses. The club has established pool-based winter training this year to
maintain year-round training options for its members. The Nipper Pathway
programme for the club's younger members remains popular, particularly with the
training extended to pool sessions following the summer season.
