increase year on year.
Applemore
College
Olivia Inspires awarded
grants to 15students
taking part in a sail training
voyage
with the Ocean Youth Trust. The voyage was extremely
successful
and feedback from school and pupils was universally
positive.
Olivia Inspires Sail Training Voyages
Based on the success ofthe Applemore
College voyage we developed
a
project to offer 5-day fully funded voyages
with our partner,
the Rona
Sailing Project to all secondary
schools and colleges
in the NFDC district.
f10,000 offunding
was successfully
sought
from Hampshire
and isle
of
Wight Community
Foundation's
Charles
Burnett
Memorial
Fund to part-
fund the voyages. The first voyage took place with 8 pupils from
Eaglewood School taking to the Solent. Further voyages would follow.
Burgate School Mural Project
Olivia Inspires funding
enabled
a group of 15students
to undertake
a
mural project under the guidance
of a professional
artist. A colourful
and
enjoyable
addition to the school environment.
Mllford on Sea Primary School
In last year's report we told how Olivia Inspires
funding
would enable
all
39 Pupil Premium
children
from Olivia's old school to visit Winchester
Science Centre. The visit took place in this reporting
period and the
remaining
funds enabled
the same children to take part
in a theatre
based workshop
at Forest Arts.
Eaglewood School
We continued
our funding
throughout
the period for 12students
to
participate
in the New Forest Bike Project's 'Build a Bike"course during
whigh they rebuild a aorap bike, learning
valuable
akille and getting to
take the completed
bike home at the end ofthe course.
Totton College Uniformed
Public Service
Thanks to funding
from Olivia's
charity, a group of learners
from the
College's
Uniformed
Public Service course were able to take part in
an
outdoor pursuits
course which counted towards their final course
assessment.
