|Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.|Para 1.17 and
1.19|**The Cylch is situated in a small rural**
**village and sits in the grounds of a**
**primary school. It provides parents with**
**childcare close to home, 4 days a week.**
**This enables parents to work and**
**children to thrive in a holistic learning**
**environment.**
**The Cylch has equipment such as, toys**
**and resources which reflect the**
**developmental needs and the age range**
**of the children. Activities for children**
**reflect the Foundation Phase (the**
**national early years curriculum in**
**Wales) so that the Cylch can ensure that**
**each child receives the best possible**
**start in all aspects of his/her education.**
**Activities include singing, arts and crafts,**
**cooking and role-play and there is an**
**emphasis on learning through play. The**
**staff are trained and experienced to**
**ensure that consideration is given to**
**each individual child’s developing needs,**
**so that personal, social, emotional and**
**physical development are encouraged**
**and supported alongside language**
**development.**
**Careful attention has been given to**
**planning the outside play areas, so that**
**the Cylch can offer children opportunities**
**for stimulating activities in the open air.**|

## **Achievements and Performance**

|---|---|---|
|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|**Many children who attend the Cylch**
**come from English-speaking**
**backgrounds. The Cylch provides**
**activities and games through the medium**
**of Welsh, so that when the children move**
**up to the bilingual school, they are**
**familiar with many everyday words,**
**phrases, greetings and questions in**
**Welsh. The school benefits from the**
**Cylch, as most children who attend the**
**Cylch will then go on to attend the**
**school. The Cylch joins the school for**
**many activities, for example sports days**
**and village parades, to help prepare the**
**children for school and ensure a smooth**
**transition.**
**After facing many problems during 2023-**
**2024, a decision was taken to change the**
**hours of the Cylch and open up the Cylch**
**to children from 18 months. We also**
**applied to offer Flying Start funded**
**places to two year olds. We feel positive**
**that those changes will ultimately help us**
**to grow numbers and ensure the Cylch is**
**sustainable.**|

|Reasons for holding zero
reserves|Para 1.22|**Because of our size the trustees have**
**decided that it is in the best interests of**
**the charity not to hold any reserves at the**
**moment, but to spend all of its budget on**
**salaries and resources.
