Ob ertives and activities
To posltively promote partnership5 and collaborations between the academy. parentslcarers and other
members/busine55es within the local communtty, to enhance the education of the pupils at the academy.
To support the academy in raising funds in support of all pupils and staff, in order that th￿ have opportunities
and experiences that enable them to be the best that they can be-academically and beyond.
To aci a5 a liai50n between parentslcarers and the academy_on general school matters,. supporting policy and
practice for the interest of staff. pupt15 and parents/carers.
Main activities:
Bin80 & Quiz Nights- open to all puplls. ex pupils and the local community. A small re*[￿hments stall
was provlded and a raffle.
Christrnas CrBft Market- accessing the expertise from local uafters including parentslcarers. In
8ddition. local food companies were invyted. and a per￿ntAge of their profits was awarded to FOSA.
All stall holder5 provided a small gift which was raffled.
Various rnusic & drama productsons- open to all pupils. ex puplls and the local communtty- A busy
Fefre5hment stall was at eath event.
Easter raffle- chocolate pfizes were donated and tickets sold via parentP3y.
Contribution byvolunteers:
All colleagues. FOSA and widei community that contribute to the above act5Vtties offer their seTwces for free.
No payment ¢5 made to any'volunteerf.
The Chair and 5UPPOrting colleagues tend to offerforfree items that £ontribute- for example most provide free
raffle prizes.
Local busine55 and retail have Provided free raffle prizes.

Quiz night
Summary ot the main achievements-
The current arrangement 15 that to acce55 monies raised through the above activities, colleague5 at the academy
are required to submit a Request for Funds. All bids are considered during the academic year following the
majority of FOSA activities.

Reserves are part of FOSA unrestricted funds that are deemed freely available to spend on èny of the charity'5
purpose, with exelu5ion of restricted income and endowment funds.
The Charitys principal source5 of funds are from a variety of events- craft market, bingo night and providing
refreshrnents at school events.
How expe￿dIt￿re has supported the key objectives of the charitv..
Developlng partnerships - the ciaft market involved partnerships with local businesses. The craft
market Wa5 a connection with local crafter5 Using the academy as a venue to get together and share
and sell their crafts thus 5UPPOrting local craftÈr5 network.
Raising funds- these events allowed funds to be raised. From raffle Prizes to receiving an agreed %
donation from all businesses that we were in partnership with.
Contributing to policy and praCtI￿- the tot31 funds raised were discussed with the Principal and SLT
long5ide other colleagues to identify where funds could be appropri3tely to support 5tud@nts and the
AIPS.
Investment policy.. The funds raised are not used for the purptsses of investment.

I. ACCOUNTING POUCIES
Basls of preparatlon of financlal statements
The Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice
'Accounting and Reportlng by Charltles. lupdate bulletin l applying FRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011. They
have been prepared on the historical cost convention, as modified to indude the revaluation of freehold
property.
Fund accountlng
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available lor use at the discrelion of the Trusteès In furtherance
of the general objectives of the charity and which have not been de518nated for other purposes.

All in¢omln8 resources are included in the Statemeni of financial activities when the charity Is le8ally entltled to
the income, and the amount can be quantified with reasonable atcuracv.
