Collingridge Claire Shopland Mrs J Hume ## **Structure, Governance and Management** The Norfolk Coast RDA was formed when the North Norfolk RDA split into two groups, when the original venue closed, and two new venues were found. The Norfolk Coast RDA became a CIO-association on 22 January 2019 and was incorporated as a charity 1181672, currently operating out of The North Norfolk Riding Centre, Little Walsingham, Norfolk. The Trustees meet quarterly;. The Group have an active membership of 25 volunteers, in addition to six trustees. At the AGM there will be formal elections of new and existing Trustees. ## **Objectives, Activities and Public Benefit** The aim is to provide the opportunity of riding in North Norfolk for special needs children and adults who might benefit in their general health and well being. The North Norfolk Riding Centre, owner Sarah Hancock, has provided us with six lovely horses. Due to covid, the year has been unusual in that numbers riding have been varied. . We are lucky to have very supportive “carers” for our riders who have been wonderful in helping with mounting, leading and sidewalking. Numbers have gone up and done all year. We have averaged about ten a week on two mornings. We have three coaches and one in training and nearly 25 volunteers with a great variety of skills: two speech therapists, several teachers, a Barrister, a solicitor, a CQC worker, a council administrator, marketing expertise, several Trustees of other local and international charities and two artists. Between them they have a great variety of equine skills: racing, eventing, endurance, dressage, natural horsemanship and hacking. International event rider Piggy March (nee French) is our patron and she held a wonderful fund raising jumping clinic at Wakefield farm just before Christmas ably organised by Polly Baker. Annabel Greenwood a long time supporter and volunteer has agreed to be our President and is a fantastic support. 1 ## **NORFOLK COAST RDA ACCOUNTS** ## **TRUSTEES REPORT for the period ended 31 March 2020 (continued** We have benefited over the past year from advice and support from several other groups: The West Norfolk, and Buckenham House, for which we are very grateful and also from Sally Campbell-Gray and Peter Tobitt. **Review of financial activities** Fund raising activities were curtailed over the year due to covid restrictions but we managed to hold a few fund raising events. We received a generous donation from the Gurney family with which we purchased an arena mirror. - Dressage competition - Sales of second hand tack and donation bucket at Marsham Saddlery - Sales of Christmas cards and branded clothing - Donation from Piggy March’s demonstration evening. ## **Risk management** The Trustees formally considered the various risks to which the Charity is exposed and has taken the appropriate steps to mitigate these risks. -| ||**56,151.15**| ||0.00| Amanda Brownlow Zena Tooze Chairman, Norfolk Coast Riding for the Disabled Treasurer, Norfolk Coast Riding for the Disabled September 2021 2 Norfolk�Coast�RDA� Coaches�Report�2020-21� � � � It�has�been�a�strange�year�for�everyone�but�we�managed�to�recommence�riding� after�lockdown�(the�first�to�do�so�in�Norfolk)�and�with�strict�rules�enforced�by�the COVID�Risk�Assessment,�we�managed�to�operate�on�Tuesdays�and�Wednesdays.� Our�helpers�worked�on�a�one�to�one�basis�with�riders�and�we�managed�to�train� carers�to�mount,�dismount�and�sidewalk�so�we�were�able�to�accommodate�all� riders�who�wished�to�continue�to�ride.�It�was�a�delight�to�welcome�Thornage�Hall� riders�back�although�sad�that�Simon�rejoined�Holt�Hub�on�Wednesdays,�so�was� unable�to�continue.��With�the�change�to�Tuesday�this�year�for�Thornage�Hall,� hopefully�he�will�return�to�riding.�We�were�delighted�to�have�Karen�back�riding� independently�with�Lisette.�Gabe�and�Len�have�gone�from�strength�to�strength,� both�have�moved�up�a�size�in�horse�and�we�have�new�riders�in�Louise�and� Hannah,�who�are�doing�really�well.�The�riders�have�definitely�benefitted�from� one�to�one�tuition�and�Len�and�Hannah�have�achieved�their�Level�3�in�Riding�and� Horsecare�which�is�excellent,�tested�and�passed�by�Mary�Allbrook�from�Worstead and�District�RDA.� � Gabe�and�Hannah�have�continued�to�ride�with�Sarah�at�North�Norfolk�Riding� Centre�throughout�the�summer�and�photos�from�parents�show�that�they�are� continuing�to�improve�so�we�will�be�deciding�on�next�steps�for�them�this�term.� Joe�left�us�last�year�but�he�has�also�been�riding�at�the�riding�school�and�will� return�to�us�next�term.�Some�new�helpers�and�riders�are�joining�us�next�term�so� we�are�looking�forward�to�meeting�them.�� � Zena�has�started�her�training�to�be�a�pink�coach�and�under�Amanda’s�mentorship she�has�conducted�some�excellent�lessons�for�Gabe,�also�Lisette�and�Karen.�Helen� has�given�several�coaching�sessions�and�judged�some�tests�during�the�year,� which�has�been�most�helpful.�Our�Chairman’s�organizational�skills�have�been� instrumental�in�achieving�our�success�as�we�have�been�given�specific�tasks�and� duties,�allowing�us�all�to�operate�safely�and�successfully.� � Sara� 8�September�2021�
