Structure and details of management, including recruitment of trustees
Management of charity affairs carried out by key volunteers (Head volunteer Matthew Linares) and supported and overseen by the board. This has involved organising street events, documenting them for online audiences and reaching out to partners and community groups.
Board trustees are still in tenure following successful registration of Street Scenes in January 2019, as such no new recruitment of trustees has been required.
Activities and objectives in the year
In spite of a second pandemic year, we again sought to increase the number of events and volunteer. We also aimed to increase the scope of activities and geographical areas in which we host events.
Achievements and performance, including reports on its public benefit
Street Scenes ran regular events in locations throughout London, shared via newsletter, Facebook, Instagram and word of mouth. In addition to this, we ran four weekly event
series at the same fixed time and in a fixed location, enabling passers-by to return and relationships to be built on. This included a regular series taking place for the first time in Peckham, South London. It was a very active year, with new volunteer hosts bringing new energy and new activities to the streets.
We received a great many words of support and encouragement from members of the public, some of whom went on to become volunteers.
Financial review
There has been a very small stream of income from two supporters of Street Scenes through our Patreon fundraising page, which is an increase from before and which we hope to build on in future with improved fundraising activities. Annual accounts have been completed and reviewed by the board.
