The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024.

financial statements and comply with the charity's Mernorandum and Article8 of As80Ciation, the Companies Act
2006 and 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
pre￿rIng their accounts in accordan￿ wth the Financ*al Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic
of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffeciive 1 January 20191
Oblecllves and activities
The charity's objeclE are lo promote health. equality and Indopendonce ol bllnd, partlally sighted and other
people suffering from disabilities and requiring assistan￿ from Irained guide dogs by
providing guide dogs for our class of beneficiaries
training and educating our class of beneficiaries in the use of such guide dogs and
providing such services faciliiies and acliwlies for the benefit of our class of beneficiaries as the chairty
shall from time to lime deem fit.

The truslees have paid due regard lo guidan￿ issued by the Charity Commission in dectding what actiwlies the
charity should undertake.
Achlevements and performanGe
Unfortunately due to delays in the planning process there has been little progress in the renovat￿￿ of the Leeds
site in Headingley. The chartty has therefore not mad8 any further donations during the year.
Fundraising
Secllon 162a of the Charities Act 2011 requires charities to make a statement regarding fundraising activities.
The legislation define5 fundraising as 'soliciling 01 olhetwise procurirKJ money or other property for charitabEe
purposes,. The charity does rs01 actively rai8e funds from the public ellher dlreelly or via use of an agent,
acwrdingly no sueh amtsunls are presented in the fln8n¢lal slaleménls for the yèar undèr review. The Charity
has received no corn ￿aintS in relation to fundraising activily for the year undér review.
Given the nature of the funding of the charity the Trustees consider that it remains appropriate not to be
voluntarily bound to ba rogulat6d by th¢ Fundraising Regulator.
Flnanclal review
The Charity had irFcome Df £31,112 12023 - £7,038 negativè d￿e to overprovision of légacy} with expenditure
amounting lo £28,904 (2023 - £33,025) and gains of £167,881 12023- losses £106,056) for the year. Resldllng
in a nel income of £170,089 at 31 March 2024.12023- £146.119 expendilurel.
11 Is the pollcy of the ¢h8rily that unreslflcted fvnds which have not been designated for a specrfic use should be
maintained al a level equivalonl to between three and six month's expendilure. The tIU51ee5 consider that
re8erves al this level V￿11 ensure that, in the event af a signlficanl drop in funding, they will be able to continue the
charity's current activities while consideration is given lo ways In whl¢h addlllonal funds may b8 raised. Thl$18vel
of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
Funds al 31 Mareh 2024 stood at £1,486,231 12023. £1,316.1421. The trustees cOns￿er this level of reserves in
lin& with their res6rves policy.
The trustees have asse88ed the major risks lo which the charity is exposed, and are satisfi￿1 Ih818ysterns are in

At the lime of appro￿ng the financial statements. the Iruslees have a reasonable expectalioin that the charity
has adequate resourcgs to continue in OPeTalional existence for the foreseeable lulure. Thus the Irustees
continue lo adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the financial stalemenls.

Income is recognised when the charity is legally enlilled lo il after any performanGe conditions have been mel,

Legacies arè recoonised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified ol impendillg di511ibution,

the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expendilure is classified by aclivrty. The costs of each aclivlly are made up of the lolal of d]r￿1 Costs and
shared costs, including 5UPPOrt costs involved in undertaking each aclivily. Direct Gosls attributatAe lo a single
activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs whith ¢onlribule lo more than one activity and
