The Objects of the Charity
To promote, for the benefit of the public, the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of, in particular but not exclusively, Jim’s Field, Alton.
Summary of Activities During the Year
This year was focussed on planning and managing Jim’s Field and engaging volunteers, when possible, to carry out the required work.
The year’s activity included:
1.In September Alton Community Land Strategy for 2023 to 2028 was agreed by the Trustees as a basis for further planning and priorities. This was publicised on the web site.
- It was agreed to create an annual management plan for each of the three main types of habitat: Acid Pasture; Dry Heathland; Woodland.
3.The rebuilding of stone boundary walls was completed under the leadership of a skilled dry stone waller.

In June the information board near the entrance was installed. This was paid for by a grant from Ashover Parish Council.

In October new entrance gates (donated by Claire Howells) and a post (donated by David Brailsford) were fitted.

Wildflower planting continued in a number of plots.
