SOUTH NORTHANTS YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 The Trustees are pleased to present their report and financial slalements for the year to 31 March 2024. J South Northan15 Youth Engagement ISNYEI is an established youth charity which has continued to grow in stability and capability through the collective work of our dedicated team and partners. Even in challenging limes for the youth sector, this report will show another successful year of operation. SNYE expanded ils funding base and increased our youth provision to reach more young people with new youth clubs, holiday schemes, projects and activities", all backed up with our newly qualified youth workers and a growing team of trained volunteers. This year we launched our Youth Council., we supported more community events, and our Play & Activity Days scaled-up to attract the highest attendance so far. We continued lo focus our youth work in South Northamptonshire while making connections with the Wesl Northamptonshire Unitary Council IWNCI through their Integrated Care Partnership and Youth Offer Board. SNYE is a partner and affiliated with Northamplonshire Association of Youth Clubs INAYCI who provides volunteer training, youth activities and advice for the voluntary sector. The SNYE charity is run by a board of 5 Trustees representing the local council, community and youth work. We are guided by our 2 Youth Engagement Steering groups in Brackley IBYEI and Towcesler ITYEI whose members are local youth providers and services. We employ three part-lime staff lo run our youth provision, 2 Youth Workers and a Youth Engagement Manager, adding casual staff for administration and projects. This year our volunteer team grew by 1 to 18 and we congratulated our 2 youth workers who qualified as Youth Support Workers. Towcesler had no open youth provision for over 6 years and this year SNYE successfully opened a new youth club al the Community Centre for ages 13-15. We also provided a separate youth space for young people in our aclivity-based project at the leisure centre supported by Sponne School. We now run youth clubs in Brackley. al Southfields School and the Leisure Centre, and Towcester with 2,439 young people and volunteers attending the weekly se58ions during the year. Planned activities included NAYC Games and Craft5. crime awareness. silent disco, karaoke, sports coaching, wellbeing, NGAGE Substsnce Misuse. Following last year's visits by our local MP and The High Sheriff of Northamplonshire, we welcomed the CEO of West Northant5 Council, Anna Earnshaw, and Assistant CEO, Rebecca Wilshire, lo see our youth clubs and the Trustees valued the commendation we reTrived. SNYE ran holiday clubs in Brackley during school breaks in May and October providing multi-arts sessions including arts & crafts, sports, baking, music, games and dance. We also ran a Holiday Activities and Food IHAFI programme over the summer period. Since 2017, we have organised annual Play and Activity Days in Brackley and Towcesler. These free community events are for families and young people lo enjoy a range of activities and attractions and be informed about local services. This year, both days were extremely well attended.
SOUTH NORTHANTS YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 (continued) SNYE is thankful lo the many volunteers who give their lime to support our youth provision. All our volunteers are DBS checked, they receive a welcome induction pack with youth worker support and accessible training in safeguarding, first aid and youth work. Our volunteers supported several community events including the King's coronation, Towcester Volunteer Fayre, Northampton Youth Summit and Brackley Leisure Centre Community Fun Day. A group joined the Round Table's Santa Run in Brackley to fundraise for SNYE. Two of our volunteers completed coaching courses with Skateboard GB and Team GB Sports and with the mobile Skate Park we ran'summer Skate, sessions in Brackley and Deanshanger. One of our young leaders delivered school assemblies al Magdalen and Sponne to promote local activities on offer and recruit for the Youth Forum. In March we received funding from the Anchor Community Connection Fund lo stsrt the new SNYE Youth Council and run monthly meetings. In November we were pleased to accept an invitation for a group of young people from our youth clubs to attend an evening with Tim Peake Ilhe first British astronaut lo walk in spa) al the Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS F1 Team sile in Brackley. SNYE was the nominated charity for both the TOWSter and Brackley Mayors. Funding is essential to continue our work and we are very grateful lo our funders and partners who continue lo support us. We are pleased lo mention them here.. West Northamptonshire Council IWNCI, Brackley Town Council. Towcesler Town Council. Deanshanger Parish Council, Brackley and Towcesler Town Mayors. Local Councillors. Northamplonshire Community Foundation, Northamptonshire Sport, The Brackley Rotary Club, Brackley Fiound table, Brackley United Feoffee Charity, Tesco Community Gonls, The Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner IOPFCCI, Oxlordshire Play Association. Legacy Leisure (Brackleyl and Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS F1 Team. We also thank the many local people who sent gifts and donations. The Youth Clubs run by SNYE offer a safe and inclusive environment foryoung people to m8ke positive relationships, rgceive information and advice regarding personal safety, and interact with other responsible Community members and partners Ihal they would not ordinarily be able to access. The clubs are now an integral facility within the Community. We will support the new Brackley Skate Park which was completed in September 2024," collaborate in the development of a new Youth Centre in Brackley and restoration of a dedicated youth facility in Towcesler. The Trustees consider that a reserve sufficient lo cover 3 months normal expenditure should be estsblished. Consequentially. the Trustees are working lo establish a reserve fund of £8,000. Rlsk Management The Trustees monitor the risks associated with ils core aclivilies. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Charity Information South Northanls Youth Engagement is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ICIOI with the Charity Commission for England and Wale5. 11 is governed by 8 trust deed, dated 15 January 2019, and has been adopted by ils members. Basis of preparation The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised al cost or transaction value unless otherwise staled in the relevant notelsl lo these accounts. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014 and with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and with the Charities Act 2011. The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not lo prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
