Trustees Report

The Trustee’s are pleased to present their report and financial statements for the year to 31 March 2021.

Past and Future Plans

In a year of uncertainty and change as Covid affected people’s lives in every way, our young people were not immune. Through lockdowns and restrictions, the youth sector struggled to maintain support and we read national reports that highlighted the impact on children’s mental health and wellbeing, particularly the anxieties around social isolation, education and domestic issues.

SNYE is a new charity set up to develop provision and support for young people and in midyear we received our first significant funding that has enabled us to start delivering our vision and purpose. In January we employed key staff; a Youth Worker and Co-ordinator, followed by an Administrator, and started the re-engagement with local communities around reopening and developing much needed youth provision.

Focused initially on the two towns, Brackley and Towcester, we started building local networks, forming partnerships, supporting existing youth centres and developing new ones. We planned community events and youth projects to engage young people in local settings. Despite the challenges, we continue to move ahead with ambitious plans driven by our vision to see every young person in our local communities as active, healthy and thriving in a supportive environment.

Our work and plans would not be possible without the dedicated support and effort of our Trustees, staff, volunteers, funders and other partners. They deserve the credit for what this young charity has achieved so far, and for seeing the potential for more success in the years ahead.
