The name of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation is **Forbes Foundation** ( **“the CIO”** ).

The principal office of the CIO is in England.

## **Objects** 

To provide financial support to children, and their families, who are in need, by reason of ill health, disability, and/or financial hardship within England and Wales but predominantly the North of England, by providing facilities, equipment and monetary grants;

## **Appointment of Charity Trustees** 

- Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. 

- In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. 

- No person other than a Trustee retiring by rotation under clause 12 below may be appointed a Trustee at any general meeting unless: 

   - he or she is recommended for re-election by the Trustees; or 

   - not less than fourteen nor more than thirty-five clear days before the date of the general meeting, the CIO is given a notice that: 

      - is signed by a member entitled to vote at the meeting; 

      - states the member's intention to propose the appointment of a person as a Director 



   - contains the details that, if the person were to be appointed, the Charity would have to file at Companies House; and 

   - is signed by the person who is to be proposed to show his or her willingness to be appointed. 

- All members who are entitled to receive notice of a general meeting must be given not less than seven nor more than twenty-eight clear days' notice of any resolution to be put to the meeting to appoint a Trustee other than a Trustee who is to retire by rotation. 

- A Trustee appointed by a resolution of the other Trustees must retire at the next annual general meeting of the members ( **“AGM”** ) and must not be taken into account in determining the Trustees who are to retire by rotation. 

## **Overview** 

The Foundation launched in January 2019. 

During its 6[th] period, year ending June 2025, the Foundation had raised £15,768.54.  This was amount was achieved primarily by: 

- Various bake sales and sweepstakes; 

- A sponsored fast for Ramadan; 

- A charity ladies night hosted by Forbes Solicitors; 

- Donation from clients of Forbes Solicitors; 

- A wreath making event; 

- A paint and sip event; and 

- General donations. 

The Charity also organised a foodbank donation over Christmas, where donations were made to local foodbanks and refuge centres. 

During the financial year, the Foundation made the following contributions: 

- £1,500 to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to purchase 5 INR self-testing kits that allows a family to check their child’s blood thickness from home in order to avoid stroke; 

- £2,593.14 to the Country Trust to fund the cost of 3 school trips to a farm for children across Manchester and Leeds who cannot afford the costs involved; 

- £2,700 to Lancashire Mind to allow six children to start one-to-one wellbeing coaching; 

- £4,613.34 to SNAPS (Special Needs And Parent Support) Yorkshire to fund 2 weeks of services at their site including hydrotherapy, rebound therapy (trampolining), and swimming lessons to help the children progress towards their personal goals; and 

- £964 to the Handicapped Children’s ‘Action’ Group to purchase a specialist buggy for a 5 year old boy with Autism and PICA (eating disorder) to allow him to enjoy the outdoors whilst keeping him safe. 

The Charity will continue to go from strength to strength and provide support in line with its Objects. We are committed to improving the lives of as many people as we can.
