Appointment of Charity Trustees

Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective
administration of the CIO.

No person other than a Trustee retiring by rotation under clause 12 below may be appointed a Trustee at any general meeting unless:

he or she is recommended for re-election by the Trustees; or
-
not less than fourteen nor more than thirty-five clear days before the date of the general meeting, the CIO is given a notice that:

is signed by a member entitled to vote at the meeting;
-
states the member's intention to propose the appointment of a person as a Director
-
contains the details that, if the person were to be appointed, the Charity would have to file at Companies House; and
-
is signed by the person who is to be proposed to show his or her willingness to be appointed.

All members who are entitled to receive notice of a general meeting must be given not less than seven nor more than twenty-eight clear days' notice of any resolution to be put to the meeting to appoint a Trustee other than a Trustee who is to retire by rotation.

A Trustee appointed by a resolution of the other Trustees must retire at the next annual general meeting of the members ( “AGM” ) and must not be taken into account in determining the Trustees who are to retire by rotation.
Overview
The Foundation launched in January 2019 and completed its first (extended) year in June 2020.
During its 3[nd] period, year ending June 2022, the Foundation had raised £4,601, and received a refund of £2,925 for the cancelled Foundation Charity Ball (cancelled due to COVID-19). This was amount was achieved primarily by:

An individual’s trek across the Himalayas

General donations
During the year we supported:

£785.00 for a mobility chair

£6,354.50 (previously ear marked funds) for a specific baby/toddler mobility chair
-
£870.00 to provide a therapy dog to a school in need
At the end of this year, Chair and Trustee Oliver Burton will be stepping down, being replaced by Chris Booth. Stuart Penswick also stepped down during the year. New trustees will be appointed during the next financial year.
The Charity will continue to go from strength to strength and provide support in line with its Objects. We are committed to improving the lives of as many people as we can.
