I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
Scope of examination
I have examined the accounting records of the CIO for the financial year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, as set out in the spreadsheet provided, which includes:
-
Records of receipts and payments
-
Journal entries where applicable
-
An extended trial balance
-
A bank reconciliation
The examination was carried out in accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance for independent examination of charity accounts.
Findings
-
The accounting records are properly maintained and internally consistent.
-
Income and expenditure are clearly recorded, supported by appropriate categorisation.
-
The bank reconciliation agrees with the accounting records, providing assurance that the cash position is accurately stated.
-
No material discrepancies were identified between receipts, payments, and balances reported.
-
The records reviewed are sufficient to explain the charity’s transactions for the period.
Matters of concern
Based on the work performed:
-
No material matters have come to my attention that give cause to believe that:
-
Proper accounting records have not been kept, or
-
oThe accounts do not comply with the requirements of the Charities Act.
Conclusion
In my opinion, based on the examination undertaken:
-
The accounts provide a true and fair summary of the CIO’s receipts and payments for the year ended 31 March 2025.
-
The financial position of the charity at the year end is reasonably and properly stated.
-
I have no matters to report to the trustees or to the Charity Commission.
